So should 90% of the NBA players.

If the rest of the league is out of shape

This just might work to our advantage

Why does all these pictures from tweets look like they are stretched?

That pick actually looks great....he's never been that lean in his career

I think people are slightly overestimating his weight loss- he looked really trim last year in the offseason (gained some weight as the season went on). It's great that he's committed (as he has been the past 2 seasons), but I suspect we'll have lots of 'he looks no different!' posts come training camp when he has his padding on.

No he didn't look really trim last year in the off season. Why would you lie like that?

Yes he did- I remember people discussing it on here- the same worries about whether he had lost too much weight to play PF etc etc.

Melo was in good enough shape to log more minutes than everyone in the NBA, except one other player, and with a bad shoulder to boot, so Im not concerned about his ability to stay on the floor. It did however affect his late game performance. He won't be carrying the same load he has in the past, and with this roster, and this system, he shouldn't have to.

I wouldn't be surprised if Melo was the go to guy at the end of games at times, just like Phil's stars were on other teams, but not to the same extent he has been in the past.

Even Jackson said that sometimes the triangle wont overcome suffocating defenses, and you need a player who can get buckets. Melo does that better than most players in this league.
