I think you have to pick the yanks simply because there is no hard cap in baseball. Spend that unlimited cash wisely and you can contend for a chip pretty quickly. Mistakes can be absorbed without hurting future signings, etc.

he was not a playoff performer. his head was never right. i don't recall ever seeing him get a clutch hit in the postseason... well maybe one. torre moved him down to the seventh spot once. scott brosius was a more valuable yankee.

George stepped down in 2009. As to how sharp he was at that point or his involvment I don't know.
