A faster smaller line up

C-Amare Stuodemire

PF Jason Smith

SF Carmelo Anthony

G JR Smith

G Jose Calderon

C/PF Andrea Bargnani

-F Cleanthony Early

F Iman Shumpert

G THJ

G Shane Larkin

Why and what. In both units it gives us speed and more scoring power that is essential in the nBA now. The Spurs basically used 3 players who are over 6-10 and can all score. These line ups give us scoring from inside and out and create more match up problems than playing w a traditional C. We can integrate the traditional C in Foul trouble injury or special circumstance but I think this might be our best. The only thing Im not sure of is Early better than Outlaw. I like Larkin for the speed and tthe 4-1 set up of the 2nd unit.

I like it. It's a very solid lineup. I actually think they brought Jason in to play ahead of Dalembert. In the end I want to see a lineup that can move on both ends too. IMO we need to play our most potent offense which is playing to our strengths and I don't think there will be much drop off defensively anyway.

I actually feel really good about Early. He has so much talent and he's more mature than most rookies. He also gives us more speed and athletic ability than Outlaw. I like his game for the Triangle better as well. He's effective from more areas of the floor. Early has that quick release too. Early is also a better finisher.

When Stoudemire started at C for us in 2011 he avg. 25 pts 8 rebounds 3 assists 2 blocks 50% in 36 min. There is no doubt Amare is the most talented player on our frontline if healthy and if we add an additional 7 footer who can help on D make 12 footers rebound that gives Amare the post. To me Daembart and Cole are back ups. Bargnani is a wild card but I think he can play a third big and play it well in this style if he listens. The other two guys are situational.

STAT is a finisher around the basket and Jason will hustle and be able to shoot the midrange jumper. Without all the switching maybe they'll be able to hold it down.

Bargs seems like a guy that needs clear guidelines for what he should do. You don't want him to just wing it out there. I think he'll do well in a system like this. He will have very specific rules to dictate what he does. That should help keep him focused which is a problem for him if he's not engaged.

Fish and Phil aren't likely to worry about politics or hurt feelings. It's only about putting the best product on the floor. No more stupid lineups that make no sense. This is a very balanced roster so there should be no excuses.

My worry would be the defense- with Calderon as our first line of defense and Amar'e as the last line of defense, things would get pretty bad!

Huge fan. This is how I see it as well. I kept trying to squeeze prigs in there but Larkin will eventually be better I think.

Prigs is definitely cut out for early season triangle learning, but he falls apart.

Figuring everyone else are foul trouble subs.

I like the lineup. A lot of fire power. Extra emphasis needs to be placed on Amar'e as a wiling ball mover. His history as a "Black Hole" preceeds him. Hopefully, defense will become a priority at camp.

I just don't see Early being able to play PF this year, he will need some time to fill in his body to add the strength needed along with adjusting to the NBA game, I think Quicy Acey at PF playing a Rodman type role is more likely even Outlaw if he works hard to regain his mobility over Early

I really would like to see Cole Aldrich to get some good minutes this season, he simply understands his role and showed some imroved POST UP/PASSING/FACILITATING as a Center
While I think AB could play well at Center as well, though I don't think Cole Aldrich and AB it is possible with their lack of speed though it could vs the 2nd/3rd string players
He played really well last season when given the rare opporutunity, maybe at times playing 20-30minutes some games as players like STAT/Jason Smith/Dalembert have injury/health concerns after the 2/4 games in 5 game nights
We really have a lot of depth at PF/C and should use it wisely in our rotations in my opinion

Also maybe a combination of Larkin/Iman at PG *if Iman puts is improved*, I think he would be great if Adektenkpo TOGETHER on DEF if they can have a mobile athletic C in addition to a F at PF or SF to fit in their schemes, with Iman harrasing the opponents PG's like he did in his rookie year
With Iman and Tenacious, I feel they could have a multiple effect on each other and the team, though I think Larkin could do the same despite his height issues but in the Triangle, SIZE at the PG position outside of Fisher has been the theme
If we can somehow grab Bledsoe, he would be a great fit with Tenacious, though I don't think Iman should play SF unless the match up/opponents play a SG at the SF

I'm feeling that Greek Freak Sr. (He is the older brother) has been brought in as a Shumpert replacement. He brings early Shumpert tenacity at a fraction of the cost. I expect Shump to be showcased and then traded later in the season. If there is any improvement in Antekempo's offense, it's bye-bye Iman.
