if it looks anything like this, i am in!!
Is the iphone6 even worth buying? I hear it's only bigger, which I don't necessarily like.
The 6 and OS is about the skeletal system not the size of the screen. Of course you don't care if its just bigger.
Mobile wallet will be huge.
The health applications of the 6, and the watch will be its selling point. They have to crack the heart monitor code which only works well if you currently wear a chest strap.
Wearable Tech is going to be huge. Apple does not innovate, they perfect!

Unless the health monitoring is really revolutionary and useful, it's just a gimmick. It will be interesting to see if they have figured it out but most of these types of gadgets (fitbit, Up band, Fuel, etc) are glorified pedometers.

Exactly my point! I looked at all of them and my wife even got me a fitbit (I eventually returned it). Wonderful thing and it worked great but as you pointed out very simplistic in what it can do. The Health App they have advertised ties in many of those machines but they have to take the tech to the next level and measure heart rate and skin temp.
I have a 3 year old 4s and will early to get a new iPhone 6 asap. I know the Galaxy offers better value for the money but I have been an apple user for some time and a very satisfied customer for a long time with many machines in our household. As a shareholder for some time I am even happier!!!! Samsung stock has done well by me as well. They are a huge company!!
Another concept, this one based on the Nike FuelBand:

Curious to see if they introduce BOTH the iphone 6 and the iWatch tomorrow. As usual we will all be disappointed in something.
I have a Jawbone UP collecting dust in my office. The sleep monitoring was cool for a couple of months. But as a swimmer I don't really have a use for a glorified pedometer. I also have no interest in inputting my diet info.
I may take a look at the iWatch, but since I also love my Galaxy phone, it would need to integrate seamlessly into the Android ecosystem as I have no interest in using an iPhone.
Grabbing my wife a 6 asap.
Can anyone really be bothered charging their phone AND watch EVERY day? Sounds like a hassle. Plus what would a watch do that your phone doesn't? I'd be tempted if it could fire darts or a grappling hook like in that James Bond movie, but aside from that it just seems a bit of a novelty

Rumor has it will have wireless charging. Set it down on a charging pad.
The novality of a "glorified" pedometer is short lived. My fitbit would not recognize tennis and eliptical and thought my keystrokes were steps. I also stand at my desk for 6 hours a day.
I want credit for that. I want to measure my excersize in terms of body output. Thus is the reason why heart rate and skin moisture is important. Nobody is doing this.
The Galaxy watch was gimmicky as has any wearable tech thus far. If APple can't take it to the next level it will not be a hit.
Last and not least is the introduction of a new payment system. They are working with Amex, Mastercard, China Unionpay and others that basically will collect 25 basis pts on purchase thru them. Using verification software and figerprint technology is why they could negotiate a better rate than usual credict cards. by collecting credit card info in iTunes and App store it has 800million accounts ready to go and the technology has matured in "mobile wallet" that the public may be ready for a new payment system. with Credit card fraud rampent this might be a comfortable alternative.
Besides revenue from transactions it has great advertising potential. Premium models like "Amazon Prime" have huge potential. Amazon has 200 mil credi card accounts and has generated 835mil in ad revenue Build out a similar ad revenue per User on the Amazon model would tranlate to 3 bil in revenue "iAD" revenue. (APPle owns iAD).
Implications to creditcard networks, Merchant Aquireres/processors, payment terminal Manufacturers and Card issuers will change the industry. Others will get into this business as well so its not like Apple will own it. The gain here is the infrastructure is already going to be in the iPhone and that makes it all the more easier for adoption. Mobile Wallets are used in other countries at a higher rate than here. We are slow adaptors. As for the watch, well would you or your parents pay a small fee for having a health monitor call an EMT if there was a problem? Aging boomers will. Elderly are very fearful people. This kind of technology takes "I've fallen and I can't get up" to a whole other level.
Apple trades at less than 16x earnings currently with a 1.9% dividend yield. Don't trade the stock, own the company.
This is not about phones, or cute watches, or the tablets. This is about integrating the hardware into services used and streamling the system not just for customers but the retailers. Its not about iPhone vs. Galaxy and the gadgetry of one vs another. Its goes way deeper.
Great- now I'll be able to tell what time it is without having to look at a clock!

Versions for kids, Sport, etc..............

For the old school heads!
Ha! I used to have one of those calculator watches at school- very futuristic at the time and you could even type in '80085' and it looked like 'BOOBS' for added hilarity!

I'm thinking about getting one. In my line of work, where cell phones are not aloud, this would be very useful.....And I too had one during school! Very useful for tests.....lol
