yeah, but he's actually fat and greedy on the inside. And his slimness will improve no one around him.
this would help his extend his career as well as defend SF's something he always had trouble with in his entire career
During his career he would usually cheat on his own man and try to get the REBOUND, however, when defending players like Kyle Korver, Mike Miller, Shane Battier, etc, you simply cannot leave them wide open
He needs to defend shooters and it is very hard to do so if they are also athletic and have the ability to penetrate like Durant, Lebron, Paul George, to lesser talents like Rudy Gay, Iggy, Klay Thompson, Millsap, Marion, Deng, Corey Brewer, etc...
SF would likely be the position he would be playing with the weight loss
Just because he is lighter doesn't neccssarily mean he is weaker
Strenght has always been with one CA's skills, he could still solidify his post up game, especially the mid range like Jordan has done
He needs to trust his team mates and create for his team mates consistently, in order to bring his game to the next level
Of course we also need to add the talents needed to spread the floor with but the triangle emphasiss floor spacing/player movment/ball movement and there will be players open
With a REAL system, CA and the rest of his team mates must be ready to hit the shot as they will be open, as well as CA's willingness to pass out of double/triple teams or beat his man 1v1 with the baseline jumper that he use to be his goto move in his earlier years in Denver
MELO will have a lot of good shooters around him. If they all use the system to get open and move the ball there's no reason this team shouldn't be a top offensive team. These top guys in the rotation can all catch and shoot effectively.

I want JR gone! Arrgghhh!
Look at those love handles!
Look at those heavy pockets!
Look at that long beautiful red hair! Goddamn I love gingers, soul or no soul!
Well in this shape I don't think he's going to be doing as much at PF. He's going to have too much of a weight disadvantage. However, the extra speed should help at SF.
Those pants make his hips look big..........
Good that most of our players seem to take their conditioning seriously these days (even Bargs looked in good shape on a realm photo)- Remember the days when we used to look at photos of Eddy Curry in the offseason in the desperate hope that he had slimmed down?

He is wearing body armour under the shirt.
With his slimmed look, I feel like his home runs may be down.
Er,... I mean, what?
melo is a fashionable guy even with this simple suit.
Face it everyone here can't wait till Melo appears in the next ESPN body issue
Melo has one of those bodies where his lower half is much thicker than his upper body. If he lifted he could carry a lot more upper body muscle and would be a good NFL lineman or tight end. He doesn't seem to focus on building his upper body like Lebron does.
It's gonna be interesting to see how he plays this year with a lighter frame. He wasn't a very high leaper when he was young but he was quicker off his feet. Should be good for those down screen pull up jumpers and some slashes to the basket.

Shabazz above he's stocked

All Mavs were wearing these vests
Just in case Felton wanted to spark
Chandler leading workouts where they run vacated parking garages
In shape dudes all over the place
I'm just glad many of our players have taken heed to Phil's directive to come to camp in great shape. It just makes things better since coaches can focus on the game rather than trying to get guys in shape. Melo is setting a great example so far. Sounds like many other teammates are all buying in.
Absolutely LOVE that Melo and others are really working on learning the Triangle. Every bit helps. Just from his comments it's clear he understands the basic concepts of how it works and should help his game and mostly his teammates game.

Agree. Nice to see Tyson reapplying himself. 5 and 7 in the playoffs and then phoning it in the following year is hard to miss.
