There's magic in life I never expected to be like this today I dreamt about coming to Beijing But I never expected the dream would come true
The whole notion of a piece of garbage like Marbury being presented as a "hero" is of Moobyistic proportion. I find the whole thing quite nauseating until one realizes that when Melo was "coming home" he was embraced as the returning son (lived here for his first three years on earth) and was worshiped as the savior. It seems even in the "mecca" was are starved for a basketball messiah to shower our affections.
Im not hating on Melo, just the idol worship!
Media sells us our "stars" and it seems Marbury was the offering in China.
We grew up wearing Chuch Taylors Converse sneakers and never knew who he was. Marbury is trying to do the same in china.

Knick! I had heard rumors this dude could play, was looking for redemption to "come home" and this great mentorship with Isiah!
To think the absolute worst could happen and he was actually as much a franshise cancer as feared blew my mind! The notion of his celebrity in Bejing is a trip! "I was Marbury" was a small show.
