We just need a coach with some sense who pulls him quickly when he starts spazzing out.
wouldn't that have been nice to see tonight? Fish pulling JR out/aside and ripping him a new azzhole?
Pre-season. Just wait. It's coming. Though maybe no tongue lashing, just "sit down" and silence. Then we'll get JR mouthing off to reporters again about not playing enough. That's the highest probability scenario IMO. Shump is # 1 in importance and Timmy is clearly more important to the club, so JR is going to used judiciously or barely or not at all, but I don't expect to see him featured often after pre-season.

Hardaway is way too inconsistent for my liking. Feast of Famine so far.
Pre season Shump is nice. Regular season shump sucks.
JR is our only talented 2 who can get it done. Problem is ... he is a complete idiot. I predict that he will be homeless or playing in North Korea by the time he is 40.
Woodson sucks not shumpert
Dalembert is Wally's boxscore guy. Nice.

Shumpert has been a horrible offensive player for every coach that he has played for. Not sure what the homers are/were smoking.

No, Shump does not suck. He has been a team player looking for leaders and a coach. His overall contributions will eclipse most players on the team IMO. What people ride him for is lacking the alpha mindset which is just not him. He needs confidence to perform and he went through tough stuff and he's still here. He is not a star, but can be a key player on a winning team. Don't write him off.
Timmy is not there yet, but could be a minor star. Either way, his offense produces similar results as JR with less gyrations. He is looking smooth much of the time and that efficiency matters. He's better than JR already IMO. We'll see if management agrees.

Agree about Shump. Nice game tonight but the guy has looked like he didn't belong in the league in the past. Hopefully this system helps Shump but he hasn't looked like a guy that can be fixed in my opinion.
It looks like the triangle does not put Stat or JR in spots they are comfortable in. JR has to play isolate. Stat looks lost on the high post in the offense. Bargs looks more comfortable there.
Larkin is not there yet. He almost plays too fast.
Acy is active. Smith can shoot. Dalembert is ok.
I think Calderon will be good as well as Shump. Melo will see less doubles, or at least be able to see them coming with the better spacing.
The Defense looks better as they are switching less. Players seem to.be taking pride in not letting their guy score.
Wally keeps talking about how smart Dalembert and Calderon are. Nice to have that on the court. Also no drama guys.

Hardaway had a cold night it happens to every player. He's doing a better job getting assists and rebounds and his defense has evolved from universally terrible to inconsistent/below average. I don't really think he was inconsistent last year and I don't think that will be his problem this year. His problem will continue to be finding other ways to contribute beyond scoring. I like that he is acquiring the skill of getting to the line and you can't deny he's definitely diversified his offense game a bit.
As for JR, I'm not a fan but the people who think he's just going to sit on a the bench all season are fooling themselves. He's too talented for that, even with his low IQ. I'm pretty sure he's going to be getting 20 minutes a night and maybe have a shorter leash than our other SG's.

yeah ... Sam looks like the only big who has picked up the triangle. He makes me miss Tyson very very ... very very very little

when I think about Timmy's game I think either very hot or very cold. For some reason, I am not feeling his game like everyone else.
I agree that JR will not sit which makes me angry since he can be such a positive contributor if he WASN'T SUCH AN AZZHOLE!

At the same time we don't know
What Tyson would have looked like in the Triangle
Dalembert has been pretty decent so far
Just watching the end of the rockets game. Cannan is really fast. A Cannan/Beverly tandem at the point could be really good and really tough.

we know that Phil did not want to know what Tyson would look like in the triangle and neither did I.
^^^Houston does a nice job using their d league affiliate to develop guys. Canaan slips right into the slot Lin/Brooks were in and might be a better fit.

Rockets have some very good young players
But maybe they steal pickup in this offseason
Denver Nuggets pickup of Jusuf Nurkic
He's like maybe a better version of Omir Asik

Wish he felt that way about others
Like Shump-Amar'e-Smith
And did something about it
Could come back to bite him in the butt

I am sure that he does but they don't have trade value.

One of them certainly does
I mean if Tyler and Ellington[who is contributing for the Lakers]
Can produce Acy, I'd like to think dumping
Shumpert can fill a void or 2
The other 2 probably right although
I bet the Lakers would bite on Smith
For the record Phil could have signed
Kendall Marshall but whiffed there[this said to address Nixluva]
Phil has to have the wits and insights
To be capable of making smart moves like this
Shump may have some value but Phil knows that he can increase it enough to trick a dumb GM like Walsh and Grunfeld.
Not sure about Marshall, he can't shoot a lick and Duhon and felton looked good for MDA too.
Also, I hope phil does not make moves that are short term, I could care less about this season and hope they don't starphuck.
