I would imagine that he is imminently available with K.Love having been traded and Gorgui Dieng emerging into a household name. I don't know if we'll have enough assets to get it done but if we do, I'd be inclined to role the dice. Considering how injury prone Amare and Bargnani are, we could use Pekovic's paint scoring ability to sure-up our big man spots. And I think Pekovic is a smart enough player to fit into the triangle well. What are your thoughts?

BIG CONTRACT and guy misses more point-blank layups than Charles Smith in a Bulls playoff game.

Pekovic has shot 54% for his career and hasn't shot below 52% in a given season
As one of the better offensive rebounders in the league, I'm sure he more than makes up for his errant shots. More importantly, he averages damn near 20-10, is only 28 years old and will only be making $12 million per over the next 4 seasons. He's one of the better value players in the league. His only real shortcomings are his lack of leaping ability and his less than stellar injury history.
That guy is a damn moose. If you want a beast in the middle, he's the closest thing to it. A beast on D who can pass in the triangle would probably suit Phil just fine if he thinks Petrovic fits the bill and M.Gasol is not available.

You can't pair Pekovic with our collection of subpar defenders at the four spot. Pekovic and love were a defensive disaster last season.
I like the idea, now that I know he only makes 12 a year. I rather have Al Hardford tho.

Ditto. The problem is that we've got nothing to offer the Hawks. At least you could see Minnesota being inclined to sorta dump Pekovic to open up minutes for Dieng.

I remember Pekovic mauling our defensive bigs on offense, but I haven't watched enough of his team to know if he is a steady player defensively. My impression was he was pretty nimble on offense for such a wide body, but if that doesn't translate on defense then there's no point.

The majority of our collection of talent won't be here next season. We're building for the future, which Pekovic can be a part of. We can build the team accordingly with respect to their shortcomings.
Hes an injury waiting to happen with no D. Realistically we could shop for a PG a secondary type PG--I feel we can upgrade and need top look around.
As IWG says, "Pekovic is a filthy animal"
And I agree
On a side note the Wolves are looking to trade Budinger. I think Chase would do well in the triangle. He has two years on his deal. Not sure what the Wolves are looking for but Outlaw and Prigs or Larkin works salary wise. Chase might get them more then that. He is having a good preseason.
I like Chase, but not at the expense of THJ's development. Maybe if it's a larger deal involving Shump.

Yeah, I'd be willing to even take Kevin Martin back as well if it meant getting Pek. But I think we'd need a 3rd team to make it happen since we have no assets I could envision the Wolves wanting.
