A lot people wanted us to trade Shump for Collinson (who we then would not have been able to sign this offseason because we wouldn't have had his bird rights) at the deadline- basically we would have given him away for nothing. For all the Dolan complaints, he does pretty much reflect the fans with their impatience and speed at which they throw players under a bus.
Looking forward to seeing what Shump can achieve this year.

Shump's attitude and play were really bad last year. I thought he might be headed towards becoming the next Terrence Williams. I think his turnaround shows how important a structured, positive environment is for young players. I hope he continues to bounce back and develop. It is a bit scary that he became the guy that his negative scouting reports predicted he would be last year. Hopefully being in a positive supportive environment will help him achieve his potential.
