I still not that big on Wear. I do think he should be kept over Outlaw but his lack of defense is glaring. He needs to get stronger and bigger but he is already 24 so his body is not going to get that much bigger without it impacting his quickness.
Splat @ 10/20/2014 9:43 PM
Wear is just good
nixluva @ 10/20/2014 9:43 PM
GOTTA LOVE WEAR!
Finestrg @ 10/20/2014 9:44 PM
Just don't like this group -- we're not stopping anyone at all, they're getting whatever they want out there, and then it's just JR freelancing taking bad shots at the other end. Make an adjustment please!! Let's hope that if this is a reg season game that counts, Fish would've adjusted already.

What are you watching? Wear has good footwork and has been one of the only players up on the key who stays in front of his man. He is court aware and is an active help defender. His height means he is a good option to guard opposing forwards, particular ones with offensive range.

If your criticism of Wear's defense is that he doesn't provide paint presence, then that is a qualification, not a complete critique. We can clearly see he is not built to body up as a center or to provide a shot blocking presence.

How can melo be tired? He just had a long rest..
Finestrg @ 10/20/2014 9:48 PM
Ok down 7 now after that corner 3. There's time. Show me something and come back and win this game. I don't care for how we're playing at all tonight.
Dagger @ 10/20/2014 9:48 PM
This defense is ridiculous
Splat @ 10/20/2014 9:49 PM
I'm in a glass half-empty mood after watching this game. We won't stop a bunch of stoned eskimos from scoring if we play like this.
nixluva @ 10/20/2014 9:49 PM
This is all part of the evaluation. No way he ends games with this group.
Finestrg @ 10/20/2014 9:50 PM
Bucks just outplaying us and it's showing in the score. They look nice -- a lot of talent out there and they're playing well. Working it around for good shots, attacking the rim, trying to run us all night, quick to loose balls and long rebounds. We're the opposite -- we look totally out of sync by comparison. We can't sustain any good play on either end. I hate JR freelancing -- the min he goes into freelance mode, I'd pull him. the guy's shot selection is terrible.
nixluva @ 10/20/2014 9:52 PM
Nice little pass STAT to Melo
Splat @ 10/20/2014 9:56 PM
If Shump can do all those things on a single play, why isn't he doing it all the time? Tired of worrying about player motivation
nixluva @ 10/20/2014 9:57 PM
I like the passing even tho they haven't finished. It's a good sign. I wouldn't freak out too much with the D. I'm pretty sure Fish will play Dalembert in closing games.

If you say so. I've done my best to optimistically piece together lineups based on what we've got, but I saw so many holes tonight I thought I was watching swiss cheese, not professional ball. I think Fish is going to be a very busy man this year.

D is going to be a big issue for this team. Don't kid yourself.

Finestrg @ 10/20/2014 10:07 PM
Cole looks goofy taking a shot/making a move but forget that -- it's what he could give us defensively guarding the tin and rebounding the ball that I feel would improve us. The starting lineup really needs to be --

5 - Either Cole or Sammy (it'll probably be Sammy)
4 - STAT
3 - Melo
2 - Shumpert
1 - Calderon

Defense/rebounding inside with either role-playing big (I prefer Cole but either or)--important to cover some of Amar'e's shortcomings and either of these guys would do that to a large degree; our 2 best players taking their shots trying to get off early; Shump providing D on the other team's best player + his solid perimeter shooting and the savvy Calderon running things. That's my starting unit -- then I'd adjust accordingly depending on what we need more of.

This is why I have not been posting that much because I really have nothing to say. We still can't defend and we play bad against all young teams that can run. NixLuva can defend this team till he is blue in the face and he can defend Fisher till he is blue in the face but the is not a good team and not even a play off team. Now I can accept that and I will go to some of the games and root for my team. If you think this is bad wait till they play the Wizards.

BRIGGS @ 10/20/2014 10:13 PM
Guys who were impressive tonight
Bucks
Nate Wolters
OJ Mayo
Khris Middleton
OJ Mayo
Jabari Parker
Giannis Antetokounmpo

Knicks
Carmelo in the first half
Amare who needs to get the ball more
THJ although his stats are better than his overall game there.

I was impressed with the Bucks. They have quite a future ahead of them. Nate Wolters made Larkin look like pure D league fodder. Larkin hit the Phil Jackson lottery with that extra 2mm. Would I rather have the 6-5 Wolters making 700k or the speedy 5-9 Larkin making 1.5mm?
In a couple of years who the hell is going to guard Giannis on ay team?

Thanks. Why am I thanking you? Because I needed someone else to say it to reinforce the truth for myself. I have other things to do this season and this is a good moment to come to grips with the reality of the situation. This is every bit of a transitional year I thought it would be and there is little reason for me to invest more time in analyzing what will be a patchwork roster.

And I was about to subscribe to NBA.com's season subscription, but now I think I won't and keep more of my time for myself this coming year.

Salut!

Cole has jazz hands

Nixluve are you on the Knicks payroll? They lost to the Bucks. I doubt that the Knicks make the playoffs. This team as it is assembled won't make the playoffs. They can't and won't defend. Thier defense is bad, very bad and that is who they are. hey I love my Knicks but this is not a good team. Hey and I am willing to wait but any young team we play this season we will have trouble beating. Face it it is who we are. Yet still in all I will be going to Knicks games this season. I Love my team but they won't make the playoffs. They are just not that good
