3 guys who don't make bonehead moves.

THJ and Amare on the bench.

Shump in only for defense.

i was surprised how quickly Pablo was shooting tonight. Is Fisher the Pablo whisperer? Pablo is so good at shooting threes I would like to see him take at least 5 a night.

absolutely!

I don't think people realize how good he was tonight. And, love that quick 3 off the Jason Smith pick.

The dude can't shoot and is so efficient.

Quick shots and decisions! No Woodyball.

can

Dang it Larkin cut out the mental mistakes. j/k

Shump was good tonight---they're going over the play on the post game where shump put the clamps on Wall, almost turning him over. That play was big...nice job

Woody wouldn't have any player and ball movement though. It's an easier entry pass when you disguise it a little.

This

really? that was the worst disguise I've seen.

Though Melo had a mismatch in the post.

Thats was my point, getting Melo the ball closer to the basket. Last year, He would have gotten the ball way out past the 3 point line and would have been forced to create 25 feet from the basket. Melo's strength has always been elbow extended or 17 feet and in.....

yeah. I saw the replay. They faked a really good back door with Melo.

Misdirection is all you can ask for but in the end, you get the ball in the hands of your best players....Good Job by Fish...

NICE!!!!

Wally gives the player of the game - nice that someone understands.

Agreed. Iso is not always bad and it is actually built into the Triangle. The key is to Iso off of player movement so the entry pass will be easier and to pass to the open man if the double comes or the defense is there. The really bad iso is the ones at the top of the key or when the post player is pushed off his spot. Bad Iso moments will happen in any offense though and the key is to reduce them.

Yeah it's gonna take more work but the important thing is that they're actually making an effort to pass. It has to start with baby steps.

The really nice thing is how good Dalembert has been passing the ball. This is some of the best all around BB I've seen him play. It just underscores the value of coaching and getting everyone involved. Guys look more comfortable. Jason and Shump looked good. Cole looked good. Larkin had a good game. It's coming together.

They are not making an effort to pass. They are turning the ball over because they refuse to pass and they lose the ball.

How many of those turnovers came off attempted passes? How many came from not passing and forcing?

All I know is when I watch other teams play, the best players always have the ball in their hands in during crunch time. But on this board, its personal with Melo to some...

And you can tell it kills some that he made the shot and the one.

Oh, and although we got the turnover count, I will mention Melo the Inefficent got 30 on 19 shots. I'm sure that's due just to ball hogging jab stepping iso revisionism though.

Dude i think you are pushing the "melo hatred" thing way too far. There might be 1 or 2 clowns that are just trying to push the buttons of knick fans. 99.9% of fans agree that melo should take the final shot because he is our best player. The only time i wouldnt is if he has 3 guys on him. I think you are a good fan but you overreact to the "supposed melo hate"

I am not yellowboy or Uptown, my friend. I'm pretty sure either of them will gladly fight you to provide verification of that fact.

It's one post in the whole thread; not exactly flaming the board with triple spaced couplets, am I?

Its just something i have noticed. Im not calling you out at all. Im just saying i dont think melo gets the hate that some thinks he does. I agree he does have a microscope on him more than others ecause of his talent and wat he makes. However like i said 99% of fans want melo to have the ball in his hands in crunch time

funny game thread.

I caught the game and I just read the whole game thread to see what guys were talking about.

While they both had high TO games you would think from this thread Melo and Stat were Marbury and Francis.

They combined to shoot 16-27 (59%). Amare "the worst rebounder in the league" pulled down 8 boards in about 20 minutes. Melo's TOs were bad. Agree but he chipped in 3 assists and 3 steals, and Mr. Blackhole shot 11-19. The pair combined for +1 in a game won in the Knick's final possession (who hit that shot?).

Larkin has to learn how to play under control. If he slows down too much he's useless. If he plays out of control he's useless. But when he's under control and aggressive he's not only effective but good. Dont be suprised about the rebounding. He's a football player, dude is tough. He's also got 50 NBA games under his belt. He needs experience and confidence.

Pablo can shoot it. Nice clutch shot late. Nice job sealing it by Melo. Horrible job almost giving it up by JR.

I always liked Sammy and really wanted him a few years ago. He's looking great.

Sorry for the white guy to white guy comparison but Jason Smith reminds me of a slightly more athletic Doleac.

What I get from this thread is whether its Acy, Larkin, Shumpert... whoever, guys are desperate to root for anyone besides Melo, Stat or JR.

They shot well last night but what happens when they are off?

4 assists and 9 turnovers wont cut it (1 -> 5 for Amare)

They are not looking to pass, they are only looking to score. That sh1tty mentality has to change and it was pretty glaring last night.

Amare did rebound well though his defense was awful (of course).

Yep, and in the case of Melo he isnt gonna go above 50% shooting for the season. he'll be in his usual mid 40's..so yes those turnovers matter especially with how the were getting them.

Had he missed the shot we have a near

Identical script to last year

Woody as bad as he was in late game situations

Did not always draw up play with little to no motion

Remember the loss when Melo was supposed to

Involve Amar'e who the play was for off Melo drawing the double

But instead he bypassed went too soon

Tried to go left and three stooges the ball in the air

Against these same Wizards except last year

You had fans mad Tyson didn't contest Beal's shot

And for J.R. not finding Amar'e in the lane

Melo botched up so many last minute plays

Last year it wasn't even funny but hey good for him

He knocked down a jab step ISO in preseason finally

After Failing the last 20 times in a row
