Nice job at the line and dribble Shump
TeamBall @ 10/24/2014 8:40 PM
LOL god Derozan didn't have a good last couple minutes
gunsnewing @ 10/24/2014 8:40 PM
Great D AGAIN Shumpert
knicks1248 @ 10/24/2014 8:41 PM
shump 1st team defense
nixluva @ 10/24/2014 8:42 PM
Good half. Sloppy at times but good effort. As long as the effort is high they can be competitive until the offense smooths out. It gets rough on O sometimes.
Finestrg @ 10/24/2014 8:42 PM
If Sammy can bring this type of effort every night, we're in excellent shape.

So Shump is going to be relegated to being a defensive stopper, 'cause his offense goes from tepid to nonexistent.

He can do it.

They made a good point. He's not gambling as much. Hold his ground and staying in defensive position.

Now that's great coaching right there

That's fine. Someone has to defend the wing

Finestrg @ 10/24/2014 8:44 PM
The whole team's energy is way up tonight. Probably didn't like losing to these fools the other night at the garden.
Sangfroid @ 10/24/2014 8:44 PM
And while we're at it, what's up with Jason Smith? Acy has a more effective influence on the game. Offensively as well as defensively.
gunsnewing @ 10/24/2014 8:45 PM
JR is such a lazy defender

The O is gonna come and go. Shump looked good in other games but tonight the spacing and flow hasn't been there. It's a work in progress. Up and Down offense but pretty good D.

Acy has looked great. I wonder if some of it is getting fired up to play against his old team.

That's what I've been saying throughout camp. It's clear Acy really worked on his offense even before joining the knicks. I'm surprised fish is going with the injury prone jason smith. Shuffling guys in and out of the lineup is not good for chemistry as woodson proved

When they don't execute then it takes away from guys like Jason. This team has so much upside offensively. They aren't even close to their best yet.

Acy looks great tonight but it is definitely his best game offensively.

You gotta look at WHY Acy has been better tonight. He's gotten more looks in the Pinch post with Prigs who got him open jumpers. Jason has been in the Triangle which has had poor spacing and bad post feeds. It makes it hard for Jason to get off.

Splat @ 10/24/2014 8:52 PM
Jason is not a paint presence on D. He sometimes makes nice defensive recovery stops as a help defender closing on a penetrator. But Jason does very little to deny big men getting post passes in good position near the basket. Smith is definitely not a stopper in the middle.

Acy may not fill that role exactly either, but he is probably a more dynamic defensive player who may have more impact on D overall.
