Jason is not a paint presence on D. He sometimes makes nice defensive recovery stops as a help defender closing on a penetrator. But Jason does very little to deny big men getting post passes in good position near the basket. Smith is definitely not a stopper in the middle.
Acy may not fill that role exactly either, but he is probably a more dynamic defensive player who may have more impact on D overall.

So Shump is going to be relegated to being a defensive stopper, 'cause his offense goes from tepid to nonexistent.
The O is gonna come and go. Shump looked good in other games but tonight the spacing and flow hasn't been there. It's a work in progress. Up and Down offense but pretty good D.
For some on this site
It's okay for Shump 4yrs into the league
To be bad at offense
But not THJR 2yrs in the league to be bad at defense
You also don't see THJR fan boys big upping
Every little thing he does
Like I guess no one noticed THJR blocking
Vasquez shot on a back door where he had an open layup
Instead they'll say or think Vasquez shouldn't have back doored him

I don't see how you play Calderon and THJ
Dally beat on that fake but Jason was ready to meet Jonas at the rim right there
Anyone realize how amazing it is that we haven't had any major injuries. Calderon is minor and precautionary
Terrible off-balance shot by Melo. Leads to easy transition bucket by the raptors
Fisher not happy

These points are becoming obvious.
Lack of intensity to start the 3rd.
Okay Shump you gotta play D every
Minute you're out there
You don't win games with 1 qrt or
Short spurts of good play
Right now it looks like you're playing
With Calderon or maybe even Felton
You can tell Shump got Derozan's attention
It might help if you can hit a jumper too Shump
Looking like last year's knicks

I missed the first Q, but what I've seen is Toronto getting post feeds at will. The only reason Toronto was not ahead at the half was they flubbed a few conversions and our defenders did make some good recoveries at the rim to contest their shots. But we will get smoked by better clubs if it is this easy to feed the post. We show no ability to prevent it.
Jason faked out. Get him out put Acy in now
What's fish doing
We have no offensive rhythm
Which is throwing us off defensively
This is why I feel Fish can't go
With this lineup because Melo has to play out of his mind
Knicks are unorganized.....no spacing and everyone is rushing.
All they have to do is run the fucking offense. Stop moving so damn fast and just run the offense.
Ok Acy in for Jason. Everything's under control
Melo + Amare + JR = All NBA IQ Lineup
