Yup. Like Detroits championship year.
Don't think they win it all but I really like the way they play.
I have always raved about their players, their coach, and their system.
Korver who I love and many snickered at has a TS of 71.5!!!!! 71.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's just plain ridiculous.
Milsap (who we should have gotten instead of bonehead Amare (who we should certainly resign))
Freakin Jeff Teague is killing it. I mean REALLY killing it. Nice going Phil/knicks for nixing that deal last season over Felton.
Horford, Caroll ... everyone contributes
Do you want to really be mad? New York could have probably gotten Paul Millsap if they would have offered Utah what they gave Toronto for Bargs. I am sure if the Knicks wanted Millsap the Jazz would have gladly taken compensation instead of letting Paul walk for nothing. ![]()
Also, would have traded for Teague last year? I know you would have looked at his numbers and shake your head.

The Los Angeles Clippers continue to work on acquiring Austin Rivers from the Boston Celtics. The Clippers are searching for a third team to help facilitate the trade to give the Celtics an expiring deal along with a second round pick.

I know we could have had milsap. We should have gotten him when we amnesited Amare.
Why would I shake my head at Teague? His TS is > 54 for his career which as we discussed before, is very good for a PG.

Amazing what they are doing so far with, as you put it, no sexy star players.
They seem to be a blue collar team that is easy to root for, especially if you believe that a team is more than just a group of superior players doing their individual things.
With the Knicks in tank mode, I have no problem rooting for a team like the Hawks to have a good season and maybe even make it out of the East into the finals.
Hope that they can keep it up.

Okay, I thought you said otherwise. Yep, Teague was a bad move. What does it say about Mills that he targeted Lowry and Teague?

I only skimmed the last few pgs. If only Toronto bottomed out like me and Urijh expected. Smh. I shortchanged Lowry last year but he did improve and went to another level. It is why I try to use/guess higher salary numbers now but I still think I am being conservative. Maybe when I am a billionaire I will become less conservative.

That is the thing. You need to find guys who put up solid numbers who have not completely proved themselves with playing time.
Lowry had many on this board doubting him just like in that thread.
If we are to gamble, we should not gamble on guys that we hope will start hitting jump shots or that they will stop chucking or that they will start to do X. Hence the Josh Smith talk and conversely, the lowry doubts in that thread.
Teague was not such a big risk ... we try to force Felton on them. Teague caused us to miss the playoffs last year. Ironic.

I think I said I would gladly take Teague and have felton as a back up or cut him. All this spilled milk is starting to make me cry.

The thing that scared me about Teague prior to him going crazy last year was his low TS.
TS seems to be tricky in guards who's positives don't necessarily show up in the stats.
Edit: The thing that scared me was his low WS48 not his TS. Sorry for the typo

Their system opened the floor for him which gave him more room to attack. Those increased attacks probably lead to getting to the line more. This year he is at another level, amazing.
Teague and Lowry are partly why I do not want the Knicks to go after Millsap or Gasol. I mean they are great but they could not get both unless THjr and Calderon both come of the cap and then they would have to fill out the roster with vet mins, mini-mle, and draft pick. I say all that like there is a chance either players would leave their teams. lol
Anyway, I think young players who are putting up great number in their pre-primes is the way to go. It gives the Knicks a competitive team and also a team that could grow around the lottery pick this year.

And Mozgov was great btw ...
David Blatt had an exchange with a reporter about why they're not winning despite still having Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in the lineup.Reporter: "Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love they are two max players, they're here."
Blatt responds quickly: "Kevin's not a max player yet."
I imagine that he just meant technically and not his game but this will create more noise in the system. The Cavs fall back to .500 as Lebron is set to return this week.

He's being technical and by the letter of the law he's correct
Kevin Love was entitled to a D-Rose Max or heck let's say Kyrie Max
That's 30% of cap at 5yrs, he received 25% of Cap at 4yrs
In the end not a Max Player, if your team declined to offer
You the full amount of coin you were entitled to then you're not a Max Player
I don't care what the next best offer suggest you are, Of even had he turned down the offer himself
But this wasn't the case, if it ruffles some feathers so be it
Maybe Blatt is telling Love how about you learn how to play the other end of the court

on the nets side lopez is really not any good, and johnson is simply mr. invisible-- zero floor impact and just a dumb-looking player. the nets are really good at spending money on losing players, including williams. i liked what i saw from plumlee and bogdanovic.

Bropez is inconsistant and drives Hollins nuts because he does not do what is needed off the ball. I get he is one of the few fundamentally sound offensive players at the position but Hollins is really trying to pull the nasty out of him. Iso Joe seems to just let the game come to him. If it doesn't, he's cool with the bank.
Plumlee was a great pick for them and Bogdanovic has had his ups and downs this season but comes in with good cred. This sort of mitigates the lack of picks. Teletovic the same.
Nets are smart to reboot. Given the financial considerations of what they attempted to do I put this all on the owner who had to set the directive. My take is he tried to really take the city by storm and in the end created an "arms race" to which Dolan got caught up in as well. Started with the taunting billboards and getting Melo. Dolan afraid his billion dollar renovation would be a problem and wanted his star. Nets wanted to make a big splash and if they succeeded would have caught a lot of fans. In the end the Nets turned into the "Knicks" with starphuching and KNicks are now doing what the nets should have done which was set about a more rational rebuild with the ton of assets they had and then use them to trade, or sign and trade should a player become available. Easy to say in hindsight.
The bail out for both franchises is the league is doing well and the two billion valuation on Clippers means a huge equity boost of value to knicks/nets.
Thats the business side. For the fans, we are just looking up for better days.
I take it the energy in the building sucked but did you have a good time? Any comments as to the experience in the arena? site lines? Amenities? Layout of entrances and exits?
