Knicks · How many games before Carmelo says"fck the triangle" (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 10/30/2014 10:47 AM
My guess is 15
Splat @ 10/30/2014 10:55 AM
Baby steps
jrodmc @ 10/30/2014 10:58 AM
So now EvilMelo is going to spend the season driving out his coach, the entire assistant staff and his Prez?

"No, I'm not embarrassed"
Vmart @ 10/30/2014 10:58 AM
He already did last night. Can Melo break his habits can the entire team break its habits. One thing the triangle requires is for two players to be the aggressors with trust. No one is telling Melo not to be aggressive be aggressive it's required for the system to work.

My suggestion is play the triangle is spurts. Let them play a pro set 1/2 the game and then call the triangle every third halfcourt set. It's like calling the same play on offense--let the guys get used to it at a pace--let them play more free flow

The team should all try to fck the triangle at the same time.

Moonangie @ 10/30/2014 12:21 PM
Abandoning the system already BRIGGS? They need to learn it, not run away from it. Gonna take some time and some lumps. But it's not going away, and those who embrace it will (eventually) thrive using it.

The real problem for the NYK is lack of commitment on D. I am not overly concerned about offensive execution at this early stage.

anrst @ 10/30/2014 12:24 PM
there is no such thing as the triangle anyway
crzymdups @ 10/30/2014 12:30 PM
That's why I am glad Phil is here - to make sure Fish and Melo stay the course and don't panic.
mreinman @ 10/30/2014 2:30 PM
thats what his said as he signed on the dotted line with that awful mid-fart smile

Good thing knicks have you to make suggestions.

My take is there will be Isolation. Mike did it, Kobe did it and Melo will as well.

There are times for it.

Run a train on the triangle?

knickscity @ 10/30/2014 4:35 PM
This team isnt built for the triangle, but the could try to grasp it in game if they had enough talent to overcome the learning curve...but they dont.

Fisher need to admit it already and come up with a system his players can at least compete in since as he said "he isnt married to the triangle and would form an offense that suits his players".

gunsnewing @ 10/30/2014 4:37 PM
I rather lose and tank for a high pick
gunsnewing @ 10/30/2014 4:39 PM
Let's try a new system because you know Dantoni and Woodson were so successful with this group

So those coaches needed better talent

Much the same Fisher needs better talent

But of course everyone found it the in thing to do

Bash Woody taking away his platform to adopt and be a father figure

Woody was an idiot ...

The knicks sorely lack talent ...

both are true. Want to blame it on Melo? Go ahead. Everyone has the right to a blame / hate guy.

gunsnewing @ 10/30/2014 4:55 PM
So fisher, a rookie coach, is suppose to work some kind of magic with this group that dantoni and woodson couldn't do

With many of the same player Woody had a streak with this team of 72-34. I dont think even Phil could top that.

aging cagey veterans made that happen. It was fools gold and a dumb move to get those guys even if it meant that we could have a good season.

What if cripple kidd would not have retired?

How bad was the camby signing? we are still suffering from that one.

We need veteran play as well as veteran leadership. We have a bunch of idiots.
