Did we trade our pick? It looks like another team picked 10th.

I saw that. They must have traded the pick. They selected Joseph Bertrand in the second round.

Looks smooth.

A mid-range magician, Joseph Bertrand led the Fighting Illini in field goal percentage (48.1%) his senior season at Illinois. In addition to his excellent shooting skills, Bertrand hopes to show the other parts of his game in the NBA D-League, as he has entered his name in the upcoming NBADL draft.

DLeagueDigest.com contacted Bertrand recently, and caught up with the 6-6, 200 pound Sterling, Illinois native as he prepares for his shot at the NBADL level.

“I’ve just been training a ton, and visiting with family lately. I’m in Chicago now, but I was back in Champaign for little bit too. I’ve been shooting a lot during workouts and just trying to get everything sharpened. I’ve improved my quickness so I can get to the rim better too,” Bertrand said.

During his senior season at Illinois, Bertrand averaged 8.4 points, and 3.8 rebounds in 25.1 minutes. Bertrand shared the team’s sixth man award with teammate Jon Ekey. Now the skilled wing will look to take his impressive, yet evolving game to the NBA D-League, where a familiar face has been able to share some tips with Bertrand.

They also selected Todd Mayo, Sherrod Wright and Dwayne Mitchell.

I looked at the twitter conversation the dleague site about the draft and it sounds like bertrand and Mayo were supposed to picked earlier.

OK, so it sounds like we got what, 4 guys in this draft? Not bad. I saw Robert Covington went #1 overall. I guess Houston did sever ties with him...Too bad we couldn't have gotten this guy on the Westchester team. Dude's a baller. Legit NBA SF that does a lot of things well---I think this guy might be better than Cleanthony Early.

So now what happens regarding the Westchester roster? We got these 4 guys in the draft -- do they have anyone else signed up yet? When does that take place? When will their roster be finalized and how do they go about doing it from here? I know we acquired the rights to several players in the DL expansion draft several weeks back, quite a few of which I really like -- any word on any of those guys signing with Westchester?

I believe there are a certain number of players they can protect. I know they can protect a certain number of guys signed to training camp contracts, I believe 4. Also, they already signed Thanasis. I am not sure about the training camp guys but I believe they are all going to be W-Knicks. That would be 8 players and then the expansion draft guys. Not sure that any of those guys end up in the d l.

What positions do all those players play?

The only positive thing I can say about Todd Mayo is that he's better than Chris Smith.

the kid from st johns is a 4. galloway is a 1. thanasis is 2/3. len is a 5. they traded for barret who is a 1 and they drafted a group of guys that are 2/3 types.

We traded away young players and draft picks for a guy who's 28 and another who's 32 (andre barrett from seton hall btw). So when it comes to running the franchise its kind of like father like son. Allan Houston clearly a protege of Scott Layden.

Ridiculous Upside thinks a lot of Todd Mayo. They called him the best pick of the w-Knicks draft.
