That and Melo reverting to jab step dribble dribble dribble iso made me want to puke in the 3rd and 4th quarters. There, I said it. Can Shump maintain this? One needs to hope so.
And what would a Knicks season be without JR doing something inanely stupid? Please JR, tell me that was an accident. Tell me that was just a clear out move that went wrong. Tell me you forgot the games have video cameras at them.
So we're a pro basketball team and we don't know how to break a press? Didn't DFish ever watch Hoosiers?
I never understood the Cole Aldirch Man Blush

Melo has been on his "Won't Stop Jab Stepping" since before he was a Knick
This won't change, you can't

Check his per 36 numbers from last year as a better sample size.
The guy made every minutes count in huge way.
Not sure what your issue is with him, is this based solely on you eye test?
He passed my eye test and then I checked the stats and he surely passed there as well.
It's never really been about his ability
To get numbers and be productive
It's how he goes about getting them and
Is it done without causing an expense to the team
He's an above average player who's nowhere close
To being a Superstar Franchise talent

Superstar?? No way! Who said that?
He is very serviceable and can be a solid contributor. Half of his contributions will never even show up in the stats (and his stats last year were through the roof)
He is also a very smart passer and sees the wings very well. He has good hands and his offensive moves will improve. Its hard for a big to be efficient in the triangle without a good mid range shot.

Said all the time that Melo's a Top 5 Player or Top 10
Find me a Top 5 or Top 10 Player who isn't a Superstar
And I'll find you a jellyfish making love to an elephant

If I read this correctly
One of you is talking about Melo and the other one is talking about Cole.
But please proceed.
Kobe got 5 rings.
Does that count towards Superstardom?
Or was that just another
expense to the team?
Melo is underrated as a superstar. Not that he really cares about any of that talk.

The fact that he doesn't care is underrated

I hate Kobe but he was certainly a superstar. Though, not because he was an efficient scorer but because he was all world on defense and good on offense (though very detrimental in many ways).

What Melo doesn't know is we know he doesn't know we know he is completely devoid of self-awareness, otherwise he wouldn't say dumb as rocks stuff like that.
But, that's OK, he doesn't care about this stuff now that he got paid.
Legacy, schmegacy, he's a whore for the money. Chicago was his ticket to a ring. He's so fake.

The Knicks got absolutely nothing from the interior. Washington made the Knicks a jump shooting team.

I said it last night that the Knicks needed to take advantage of the overplay by the Wiz and drive more. They needed to breakdown the Wiz D with more penetration cuz they were playing way too close to Knick players and would not have been able to stop a pump fake and drive move coming out that hard at shooters. If the Knicks used the drive and kick approach it would likely have worked. Instead they kept jacking up bad shots.

Thanks and all graces to those in charge
That's why we have Phil and Fish here
They will stop these guys from jacking up bad shots

There's a difference between that being the norm rather than the exception. So far this year they HAVE NOT just been jacking shots up. That's why they've had some success. The trick is to get the team to be more consistent in sticking to the system and not reverting to the bad habits. It's still ONLY 4 GAMES into this process. I swear sometimes it's like talking to Pre K kids around here how short the attention span is. IT'S STILL EARLY!!! Who would expect perfection at this point? What's most important is how they bounce back from games like this and refocus.
