You're talking about a guy who fell off the turnip truck. He says dumb things, because he doesn't get it. If he was smart enough to understand what was going on around him, then it would show up in his comments to some degree as well.
I am beginning to think he just isn't that good.
He has looked an aweful lot like Charles Smith on a ton of plays this year.
