Derek Fisher: 2-5
Steve Kerr: 5-0

Too simplistic WOODSON, the teams are in completely different zones. We should compare in 2 years. Both will likely end Being great coaches. That's what Phil thinks as well.
Golden State has a very good squad. they play defense and can score alot. Their talent level is vastly the major factor, not the coaching imo.
Ai yi yi, Golden State has what may be one of the greatest backcourts of all time PLUS the rest of their roster is better than ours.
Did I actually respond to this thread?
Warriors were a playoff team last few seasons. Knicks just came off one of the stupidest seasons in franchise history.
In other words cut the Bullshit, thanks

I agree.
But here is the question I was driving at:
Had things gone according to Phil's original plan and we got Kerr, and assuming Fisher ended up in Golden State, would the records be the same?
Kerr with Knicks: 2-5?
Fisher with G.S.: 5-0?
Do you think things would be going the same for both teams regardless of who their coach is?
So, um, like I was sitting on my porch relaxing, having myself an ice tea and this Brinks truck drives by. And the back door swings open. And bricked up wads of 100 dollar bills fall out on to the street. Like a half a million worth. I look to my left and my neighbor Ernie is on his porch too. And he sees it just like I do. He weighs 400 pounds. I weigh 180. I got all that money. I gave him 5 thousand to keep his mouth shut.

Perfect.
Steve Kerr has no responsibility, relationship or relevance whatsoever to Knicks basketball.

He certainly has a relevance.

Steve Kerr is some sort of anagram of Derek Fisher?

He really doesnt.
kerr sized up the hot mess, knew that melo was going to get signed as the main ingredient to the hot mess, and begged off. wise man who was not interested in a fool's errand. can you imagine the clashing between him and anthony? yikes
Kerr got the best of all three worlds...an already good team, his family didnt have to move and a good contract. Had nothing to do with the Knicks situation. Now I will say GS is playing a different style of basketball than last year, but their talent is top notch at pretty much every position.

Phil got played by Kerr
End of Story
Kerr knew the job was going to open
Phil tried to save face and through the media
They both gave different stories of reasons and how it shook down

I conclude after two weeks in the season there are no conclusions other than GS is a better team before Kerr got there and your wasting my time.
Reality check: golden state roster top 5 in nba. Knicks roster bottom
5 in the nba.
Klay and Curry vs Iman and Larkin, and that's just the backcourt. Make Fisher the GS coach and I'm pretty sure they are still a damn good team.
Kerr wouldn't have this Knicks team doing much better than Fisher, either. Come on. The Knicks roster is not good and that was clear even in the offseason. Anyone who thought this teams absolute ceiling was better than fighting for the last playoff spot in the east had on rose colored glasses.
I'd guess the record would about the same. Kerr's done a little better job of changing GS on the court than Fisher has done but, yup, the players and the histories are quite different. As for the talent difference, I'd say it's more that GS has players who play like they are on a team and use their heads. On paper, the talent doesn't look too disparate but on the court . . . quite different.

The Warriors are a better team. Doubtful we would be better if Kerr was coaching. Pretty useless thread. Enough of this already! Kerr didn't come here because he got more money, a better roster, got to stay closer to home. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
