Bryant defended his volume shooting, using metaphors about crime.

"Obviously I'd rather get guys involved early, but if a purse gets stolen in front of you, how many blocks are you going to let the guy run?" he asked.

"You going to chase him down and keep him in sight yourself or just wait for the authorities to get there, or decide to let him run and wait for the authorities to get there? It's a tough thing."

The Lakers' backcourt scored 44 points -- that's 44 for Bryant and zero for Lin, who went 0-for-2 from the field in 23 minutes.

"I'd always rather get guys involved and play," Bryant said. "That's always the intent at the start of the ball game. But [when] you're 10, 12 points in the hole, I've got to try to keep us in the ball game at some point. But it's tough. It's tough.

"This responsibility, it's on me. When things go good, it's us. When things go bad, it's me."

He has new teammates who are learning a new system, so it's easy for Bryant to feel like it's all on him to do all the scoring. It has certainly seemed that way since the season began.

"I'd rather not have to do that," Bryant said, "but you can't just sit back and watch crime happen in front of you."

you obviously did not watch the game cause if you did you would know that he was AMAZING!
Killa4luv @ 11/17/2014 10:14 AM
They lost by 30 and were down big the whole game. He sounds like a delusional madman. You didn't prevent a crime from happening, the crime still happened you moron!

Do not want.

No because we haven't seen

Any difference in the players currently here

Besides maybe Shumpert who's very hungry

And wants to eat off his next contract

Also Phil isn't coaching

And Kobe is obviously playing with a different agenda

We all know what it is too

Interesting that the king of convoluted metaphors takes issue with Kobe using one. Did he steal that one from you?
arkrud @ 11/17/2014 12:03 PM
Kobe is a winner and he is on the team which will lose a lot this year and more before the rebuild will end.
He has no time left for this stuff.
He needs top get to any contender and I think he will.
But this is not Knicks. we are not a contender any time soon .

At this point I don't blame him- aside from the all time scoring record, what the hell else is there to motivate anyone on that team?

As if Kobe played team ball when he had contending squads

I don't blame his teammates for thinking he's a douchebag

Lin does have the odd luck of playing with guys who don't like the sacrifice the ball enough. Doesn't really fit his game.

Yeah, because it ended so disasterously when he did... Face it Kobe plays they way you always blast players for, but he won multiple championships.

Kobe played like pure trash

The last chip he won

Shaq was an absolute behemoth his first 3

Kobe got chitted on by Paul Pierce in another

Got waxed in the first round back-to-back

By Steve Nash and the Suns I believe

Really Kobe has been hella overrated his whole career

The only thing I give him credit for is playing the

Spurs tough in the playoffs

And finally getting over the hump to beat the Suns
