Its nice that we would like to rank this trade now.
How about starting a thread asking how many idiots were for this trade when it went down.

Bottom line is that this dude is deadweight and we née to purge his contract/space eating presence of the roster. Trade him to a stupid team in need of cap space and get a young prospect + picks. We can use the space for a cheaper prospect. We are in the early phase of this new regime, so we can afford to experiment.
There is no team dumb enough to trade you assets for Bargnani unless it comes with a catch i.e. bad contract(s). But bad contracts on the scale of a Bargnani are becoming a thing of the past IMO. More often than not, you see certain guys get overpaid but they still perform. That to me doesn't meet the criteria of a bad contract e.g. Gerald Wallace.
We would not trade Bargnani, but his EXPIRING &15 million which is partially paid for by the Knicks. There are plenty of teams who would be willing to trade for the contract. Whether or not what we will offered will be acceptable is another question. We might be able to get Monroe if we push for a trade, they might try to throw in a Jennings along, but we can use the services of a Jennings if we can get rid of SMITH

i would love to rip someone off but unfortunetly nobody is dumb enough To give any value for a injury prone disappointing player. The best we might get is a late second rounder

As long as we don't get any unwanted contract back, two picks for the deadweight will suffice. We can then package the two picks with a JR Smith to move up in the draft or for a much better talent.

Im being serious have you noticed that since the new CBA passed expiring contracts have taken a huge hit in value? N O B O D Y is giving up a first round pick for Andrea F#*CKING Bargnani. Nobody. Not even the dumbest GM in the league. In fact, if you look at the last couple trades that dumped expirings, the team that TRADED AWAY the expiring had to give up the picks.
On top of all this it's now crystal clear to most everyone that Bargs suckks bigtime. Thats the bottom line. Thinking we can get draft picks for Bargs, even a second rounder, is a pipe dream of the highest caliber. It ain't happening unless the Knicks are getting back some bum equally as bad as Bargs, possibly on a longer deal. No thanks. The best thing we can do is let Bargs expire and kick his ass out the door asap.

exactly!
Yet people will still post these proposed trades that of course will never happen
A+ on the Bargnani trade
from a Raptor perspective!
This could be a man up thread

If this is a man up thread I am 0-2. I thought Mo Taylor would be the next Juwan Howard.

Actually, nearly everyone hated the trade at the time- most felt it was an IT type trade. Some people tried to find some sort of positive (moving Novaks contract- although the Raptors managed to do that AND got a 2nd rounder BACK), but the general consensus was the trade was terrible.

I hate the Bargs trade, always have. To be fair, we don't know that he sucks in this system as he hasn't played. When he did play sparingly, he looked good. So once he gets healthy, one never knows.
Regarding expiring contracts: If someone has a good player on a longer contract that they want to rid themselves of (which with the salary cap going up, probably is less likely to happen), then they might call on us. I don't doubt that they ask for something back, but it depends on the player. Expirings is sort of a last resort to a team in financial need. But again, with the cap going up, I think the hit will be even bigger. We probably gave up a first round pick for Bargs, which thus far has amounted to nothing. It looked shizzy to start and remains as such.
Shit Trade! Shit trade!
Just under the Eddy Curry Debacle.
Shit awful trade. We gave up assets for a guy who was about 10 minutes away from being amnestied.

Good value? How about otherworldly value! Ujiri probably almost choked on his sandwich and had to put dolan on hold so he could LOL hysterically and high five his secretary when he heard the offer. It seems that the only guy on earth left who didn't realize Bargs was a worthless basketball player was dolan.

That deal actually has Grunwald's stamp on it, thus why he got fired. Felton, Camby and Bargs were acquired pretty much the same way. Draft picks used along with creating salaries to match the one acquired.
