lopez + dwill + joe are now available in trade talks.
how confident are you in FA this offseason?
should you trade amare for joe?
First they need to fire Billy King. Worst GM in professional sports
Lol, I fucking called it. Said they had, at best, two seasons of contention and that their most likely scenario was a 2nd round playoff exit. I'd be more than happy to trade some of our expirings to them for one of those long contracts and 1st round picks but they already traded all their 1st rounders to Atlanta and Boston.
The only one I would consider is Brook Lopez. The only way I would take bake Joe Johnson would be if they give up a 1st round pick(unprotected). They would also have to take JR back plus give up a youth.
joe only has 1 more year after this one at $23. if the knicks don't think they can get a game changer in FA, then they should explore an amare for joe swap. joe would take all the pressure off of melo and he can play the triangle.
Sounds like owner wants to sell.
For the second time in my ten years on this board, I was right! I blasted the KG Pierce trade at the time- it's the kind of crap move we'd pull and get blasted for. Instead the nets got praised- like they had just traded for those two in their prime!
Good luck on trading DWill- used to love him but haven't seen a player fall like that since Marbury. Joe Johnson has value but it will be tough matching salary. Lopez I'm not sure about at all- do other teams want him? Foots a risk, no defense and no rebounding.
Ill take Brook Lopez off their hands for Bargs ending contract and two picks:)
Be careful of Isiah roaming MSG halls right now.

I think they traded all their picks. Sorry

Who around the league would trade for any of those players? Deron and Joe's contracts make them virtually untradable because they only have their 2019 1st round pick to use since teams can't trade consecutive 1st round picks.
Milwaukee is the only team I can think of that would make sense for Lopez, maybe the Lakers. Every other team has a young center. I take that back the Pelicans would be an interesting fit for Lopez. A. Davis would be what Kevin Garnett supposed to be but better because thyey were not expecting a prime Garnett. A Davis is probably on his was pass a prime Big Ticket.
2015 first round draft pick to Atlanta
Atlanta has the right to swap its 2015 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2015 1st round pick [Atlanta-Brooklyn, 7/11/2012]2016 first round draft pick to Boston
Brooklyn's 2016 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]
2016 second round draft pick to L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers have the right to swap their 2016 2nd round pick protected for selections 56-60 for Brooklyn's 2016 2nd round pick (if the L.A. Clippers’ pick falls within its protected range, then the L.A. Clippers’ swap right and Brooklyn’s obligation to the L.A. Clippers will be extinguished) [Brooklyn-L.A. Clippers, 7/11/2012]
2017 first round draft pick to Boston
Boston has the right to swap its 2017 1st round pick for Brooklyn's 2017 1st round pick; if Boston exercises this swap right, then Boston will convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Brooklyn protected for selections 31-45 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Boston's obligation to Brooklyn will be extinguished) [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]; this potential pick conveyance is the same as the one described in "2017 first round draft pick from Boston" on Brooklyn Credits
2017 second round draft pick to Atlanta
Brooklyn's 2017 2nd round pick to Atlanta [Atlanta-Brooklyn, 7/11/2012]
2018 first round draft pick to Boston
Brooklyn's 2018 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]
Nets are screwed. Hawks are going to be pretty nasty next year with the Nets top pick- they have a good foundation and are doing well this year.
Deron's salary owed: $20mil, $21mil, $22mil
Lopez: $15mil, $15mil (player option)
Joe Johnson: $23mil, $25mil

2015 — Atlanta Hawks have right to swap first-rounders (Joe Johnson).
2015 — Owe second-rounder to Atlanta Hawks (Mehmet Okur, Raul Neto).
2016 — Owe first-rounder to the Boston Celtics (Kevin Garnett)
2016 — Los Angeles Clippers have rights to swap second-rounders (if Clippers’ pick in top-55, Reggie Evans)
2017 — Boston Celtics have the right to swap first-rounders (Kevin Garnett).
2017 — Owe second-round pick to Atlanta Hawks (Joe Johnson).
2018 — Owe first-rounder to the Boston Celtics (Kevin Garnett).
I would do this trade
Ny- B. Lopez and Bojan Bogdanovic
BK- Bargs, JR, Timmy
I doubt it would happen but that would be my trade.

Why, when people have blasted Amar'e over the years for being no defense, lack of passing and poor rebounding, is there such interest in Lopez? I actually like Amar'e, but I don't get why people are so enamoured with Lopez (who's foot is a ticking time bomb). Why are rebounding, passing and defense suddenly no longer important?
yuck. What happens when Brook is injured and taking up $15mil of the cap? It would be the same as having Bargnani in a suit on the bench taking up $15mil of the cap
yea and Lpoez is awkward and a terrible passer and rebouder
really the only trade I would be interested in is DWill for Bargs and JR and any needed filler, but even then I am almost convincing myself that that would be good value... the cap space might be more important

For me, It's because he is not as bad as Amar'r on defense and he seems to be a more willing passer. The triangle should up a willing passing big ast by 2 imho. It really is not that hard to get asts in this offense working in the pinch post as a big. He is also still a pretty good rim protector.
I am not a fan of any of the 3 but the guy I would take a shot at is Lopez.

the cap space is important, but dwill is better than any pg we have had (on his worse day) since walt frazier.
