This whole triangle thing has been a mess. Are only two consistent players have been melo and amare and they are both good .were going to have a super high pick and 25mm in cap space to add to those guys develop Hardaway or atleast increase his value and let's go into the offseason with a positive attitude it will be much easier sell with amare who is still a premiere offensive nba post and melo who is a top 5 nba scorer. Pat Riley would never trade either you work with what is here

Well....since it appears that you have a huge following on this site. ...let's hope more fans feel the same way. If the team need to change then the fans need to change their expectations and be patient. A change is always hard in the beginning. Lets see how far phil can take us. He knows nyc is on his shoulders. ...

You never expected the Knicks to have the record they have at the moment. So all the trade speculation is apart of that.
If Phil wanted to keep Amare and Melo,fine.... but who are we adding to these guys? Thjr? Calderon? Jahlil Okafor if we can be so lucky? Who do we sign to improve that group?
We should look to trade Amare for value but I'd advise against keeping him. Yes, he is consistent. If he manages to get his shot off without turning over the ball, he is efficient. And he is also consistently AWFUL on defense to the point where it negates his offensive production. On a team that already has two defensive sieves as its impromptu core (Calderon and Melo) we can't afford to also include Amare into the equation. Like I said, we need to trade him as best we can but if we can't, we'd be better served letting him walk. A team like the Raptors who has $30 million in expiring contracts and a bunch of defensive players might fit. I'd do Landry Fields, Chuck Hayes, Tyler Hansborough and some 2nd round picks (including the ones we surrendered in the Bargnani deal) for Amare.
I'd be concerned with Amare and his health beyond this season.
There is a price. Its never about the money, but its always about the money.

Some team will offer 2 year 16 million.
Phil will do everything possible to make sure
These two aren't playing with each other next year
Hollup Phil can do nothing and just sit on his hands waiting for
Amar'e deal to expire relieving all stresses dumping him

He should take it. No problem with Amare coming back but that is a lot of money for a guy that could be sidelined at anytime or forced into retirement.
I will give it some thought if they are still here after the week of Dec 15th

Amare will get more than that if he is playing like this in April..14 mil over 2 yrs. with a team option on the 3rd year
Get over Amar'e already folks gosh
How much more abuse can all you take
He's got an expiring contract and playing the best he has in years. It's the perfect time to sell high

Well I can't imagine any player would want to come here anyway, but you're right we should be reluctant to take on long-term salary. By the Feb trade deadline, I think he'll have about $6 mil left on his contract and we can off-set that partly by including $3 mil cash incentives.
You're right that it will still be hard to make the salaries match, but I'd at least see if any team wants him at that point.
