Melo is digitally underrated!

He is over rated. A slightly better version of JR Smith - a streaky shooter who isn't afraid to shoot because he has an inflated view of himself.
Are you overrated if everything thinks you're overrated?
Well his pay suggest many doesn't think he's overrated
His Player rankings suggest many don't think he's overrated
Many think he's the best "Pure Scorer"
Many says he's Top 5 Top 10 this that
He's referred to as a Clutch Player
Many feel you can build a team around him as the Centerpiece
Yeah he's overrated
Are you arguing that not enough people think he's overrated?
Nice try but sad to say the overrated opinion of him outside of this forum
Is echoed in many circles across the nation
I wish he was properly rated
That's why I was asking. I can rarely find someone who doesn't think he's overrated. That's what made me question how you can be overrated if so many people think you're overrated.
There are bumper crops of people who think he's overrated
But not enough to take over the masses who paint those pictures
I stated in previous posts, what you're doing is projecting
The viewpoints of viewpoints and weighting it to a side
Think of it this way, if I say Charles Barkley is overrating Melo as the "Best Pure Scorer"
The majority more than likely fall in line with the opinion of Barkley
They'll look at his scoring average and pretty much draw the same dumb arse conclusion
Those on message board forums should and at times do peer deeper realizing how absurd this is
But really there are more dummies[robots] than scholars[forward thinkers] in this world
Especially when you consider the demographics from which Melo hales from and the market he plays in

He's a great *volume scorer*, not a great scorer. That's has some value but not $124 mil - maybe half of that.

Im not even a fan of Melo but trying to take him down a notch by comparing him to the universally regarded best player in the league and quite possibly an all time great like Lebron is kinda silly, dont you think? Couldn't you say replace Melo with about 98% of the other so called "star" players in the league and take them down a notch as well by comparing them to Lebron? There just aren't many 6-9 260 lb Forwards who can run the point, score at a 55% clip, while also pulling down 7+ rebounds a game, well, in the history of the sport.
No one is taking him down a notch, he is down a notch
Actually down many notches naturally, aside from Lebron's comments
If anything when he has a scoring outburst fans try to nudge him
To the rarefied air that is ELITE
You missed the point and if you're going to wail and ball over this
Maybe the bone you should be picking is with Phil who told this Super Hero that is Melo
To "Flesh Out His Game" and grab more rebounds and dish out more assist
No one is asking Melo to be Lebron, we're asking him to affect the game in as many ways as possible other than scoring
There are several players in this league who are a jack of all trades and not a jackass of 1 trade
LOL. Im not wailing and bailing nor am I defending Carmelo, dude. All Im saying is it's kind of silly to compare anyone to Lebron, the consensus best player in the league. If you wanna dissect Carmelo's game and faults the best way to do it probably isn't to compare the guy to the best player in the NBA. I just think that's silly cause you can do the same for pretty much any player.
I didn't miss the point at all. I get Melo is not anywhere near a complete player. So what? This thread specifically compared Lebron to Carmelo.
And when did i say Carmelo was elite or on the level of Lebron? I literally have never said that in my entire life and certainly not in this thread. Carmelo is a scorer who needs to be the 2nd or 3rd best player on a playoff team full of alphas and veterans to succeed. We can all see what happens when he is the best player on a team. But I dont have to tell you this because you've made your opinion of Carmelo clear. What I don't get is why you always insinuaate that I defend Melo or worship the guy (another thread you claimed I claimed he was a top 10 player--Ive never claimed this). Anyway, I still think the point of this thread is a silly way to begin a conversation on Melo's faults. Sorry!

Maybe we see this thread differently and excuse
My double spaced french but
I never plainly stated you said he's ELITE or Top this or that
I stated what you'll see surface in any give Melo discussion
The thread did not compare Melo to Lebron
The thread took note of what Lebron said assessing his own game
And aspires that one day Melo would give critique of himself
In the same manner, this was in no way, shape, or form a Melo to Lebron comparison player wise thread
What Lebron said could have been said by the worst player in the league
And it would still hold true that Melo should analyze himself likewise

Ok fair enough I guess I misconstrued the thread's meaning and your response.

improving? how?
That's a good question. He's basically the same player as, or slightly worse than, he was by 2007-8.

By the time we made the trade for him and signed Amar'e
They both gave their best yrs to other teams
We have to break ourselves of this vicious cycle
It's crippled us, just as much as giving away picks

I don't think that he played better for Denver than he has for NY. People keep saying that but its not true.
His best years were the last few years as a Knick. His numbers here have been very solid.
Worth 124 x 5 into his 30's? I don't think so ...
Of all the players currently called Knicks, the best player on this team next year will be Thanasis, not Melo. He's going to become the fan's favorite Knicks.

fanFavorite <> bestPlayer
Thanasis will NOT be the best player on the knicks next year ... geeez dude

Of the current Knicks I said. I don't know who they will draft or sign. But of all the current Knicks, Thanasis will have the biggest overall impact on the games. Bookmark this. You'll see.
Melo and Bron have the main thing in common.
They luck integrity and humanity.
I will not go on a mission with them protecting my back.
They are full of themselves and have no intention to build a legacy within the team, to build the Dynasty.
May be LeBron now get it... will see.

Are you referring to the .01% improvement in his TS%?
