Knicks · PLAY CARMELO AS POINT FORWARD (page 1)

Knicks1969 @ 12/17/2014 11:29 AM
The dude is more then capable of doing it, the coach just has to make it a point to call a certain play to prevent him from jacking up shots each time down the court. Make Calderon the SG, and THJ the SF. Like this Carmelo can survey the court and become the MAIN decision maker. Jordan and Kobe were always placed in that position in the triangle, the same needs to be asked of Carmelo.

Please note that both Jordan and Kobe were volume shooters early on like Carmelo is right now. Phil had to put them in that position to teach them how to get others involved.

was already tried and failed

BRIGGS @ 12/17/2014 11:33 AM
The only constructive thing we can do with Melo is at some point sit him for the rest of the season. All we need is an ACL injury for a guy on a team that is playing .175 ball. Accept the season is over.

says: "Brilliant"...........

But......

Just because it failed once does not mean it can't be tried again with modifications and proper spacing.
Maybe this is in the cards longer term?

sometimes the solution is worse than the problem

You mean if you're trying to fit the problem into the solution?

I think the only answer is to play Melo at Center-Point

Actually the best option is to play Melo on someone else's team altogether!

I won't say Carmelo with Jordan, but if Jordan was ak I Knicks you would want to get rid of him as well

Yea when Douglas, Fields and Jeffries were his running mates.

CrushAlot @ 12/17/2014 11:35 PM
I hate when he brings the ball up now. I don't have any stats to back me up but it just seems like it doesn't end well. Also, it was tried and didn't work.
