Why are we making offer for Rondo?
I think Melo was told that it won't get worse if he plays but that it's a matter of him taking the pain. Sounds like a loose body in there or something relatively minor if they didn't already shut him down. I think Melo should just shut it down and prepare for next year. It no longer serves any benefit for him to keep pushing thru an injury however minor he thins it is. There is however a benefit to him shutting it down since the team can start the process of the rebuild sooner and look for ways to clear more cap and get a higher draft pick and perhaps additional picks.
