Hes becoming a top 15 NBA player
The bulls always are good at developing players. They also have mcdermott and the euro kid. Thats why draft picks are valuable
He is really good. Great defensive player that has become a great scorer.

I might say he's Top 10 as of today because of 2-Way
Start naming players who are actually better PLAYERS
Don't name scorers, rebounders, shooters, name actual PLAYERS
I guess he kind of replaces Paul George right now as that next guy
It's either you have it or you don't. The nba is a pro league. You have to do the work to get better. Case in point Amare developed a post game in one summer after training with Hakeem. Javale Mcgee trained with amare the same summer. Javale is still a bum. Guys have got to want it just like anything in life.
Shump is a bum. He's had every opportunity to succeed. He's started 160 something games out of a little over 200. He's always been a first team Knick. Now look at thjr while he takes shumps spot.
So let the bulls max out butler. We have a shooting guard in the rookie scale
regardless is if hes a top 10 player or not (i dont think he is)...hes going to ask for max money

That's okay but Butler isn't going anywhere
It's not like he'll become a bad basketball player
Who cares what he gets paid, we have to find guards
Who either cancel the likes or are better
And while it's good to have THJR hopefully 2yrs if he progresses
Eventually we'll have to pay him too

He'll get pretty much between what Gordon Hayward and Klay got
Maybe slightly less if he's a team guy, but the averages per/yr will be close
Would be silly to give a guy max money off one year of good play..Dragic was great last year, this year not so much..He dropped 35 on us for the first time in his career..Max guy??..No..

either way i would trade anyone we have for him. He has become a dangerous two way player

i wasnt including melo, because i would want more than butler in any melo trade

I'd take Butler for Melo especially if the price tag
Is cheaper for other players
Take for instance Mark Cuban essentially turned
The opportunity to sign Melo into Chandler Parsons who was cheaper
Leaving them the flexibility to make a trade and commit
Future dollars for a prime player Rondo
So in essence he Sign and traded Melo[the opportunity to sign him] in a round about way
For Parsons and Rondo and I always want flexibility along with acquiring talent
Morey the same turned Parsons-Asik into Ariza and TPE
Which just yesterday became Corey Brewer and Alexy Shved
That's Chandler Parsons-Asik for Ariza-Brewer-Shved-1st rounder
If you can't SEE THE FOREST THROUGH THE TREES then stop following this sport

i would also want at least a first rounder Plus mcdermott or the euro kid
I'd just be happy potentially using maximum free agent money even frontloaded fora aplayer like this

Well we have money to fill out other positions right now.... when is time for thjr to get paid we can use his restricted free agent rights to dictate what he'll get or whatever
callmened wrote:regardless is if hes a top 10 player or not (i dont think he is)...hes going to ask for max money
Don't blame him. I'd do the same thing too if I saw guys who are on my level or below max out this past season.

That kid Butler is a special player. He is built for the position.

That's fine in a ideal S&T situation
But if the Bulls offered Butler for Carmelo now
And it was legal under CBA rules, I'd take it straight up
Because you're getting the better PLAYER and "cap flexibility"
Now having further cap to fill out whatever is lacking in what you didn't receive
Phil already had his chance he blew it and blew it big
A more realistic deal would have been Melo-Smith for Boozer-Dunleavy-Gibson-Chicago 2 1st rounders
Mirotic wasn't signed at the time and Butler wasn't going to be included
Chicago has zero interest to do a deal now for any of the aforementioned of your likings
Why would the Bulls offer Butler for Carmelo? Please help me understand

They wouldn't it's all fantasy and we all get it
We're in what ifs, coulda, woulda, shoulda
