Knicks · The players don't believe in Fisher... (page 1)

I have never listened to any of Derek Fisher's press conferences...Not one..It's not intentional, I just never did...It just dawned on me that I don't care what he has to say..This isn't about him, it's about Phil...He is running Phil's offense and is doing what Phil wants him to do...Kerr isn't running the triangle now in GS and had he took this job, he would be running the triangle...So he would have been doing it just for the money...Fisher is just doing this for the money...25 mil is a lot of coin to pass up...Players know this..

The players are closer to this and hasn't bought into Fisher...I don't see how this changes going forward even with new players...Clearly they aren't motivated to play for Fisher and who would be??..He isn't calling the shots...Phil didn't empower him to be his own man and bring in his own ideas...I keep hearing Fisher is smart but we will never know...

But furthermore, what free agent will want to come here under those circumstances??..We were screwed before we even started...

Phil has to coach his offense and his ideas for players/people to believe...

Who cares if the players have bought in or not- most of them are gone after this year.

The overall point is, it's about the structure in place not the players...Nothing will change with new players...

Miami/Riley and Spoelstra situation was different because the players necks were on the line..Bron/Bosh and Wade had to play hard to make it work because it was their idea to come together..So the Miami Heat structure of a lame head coach and the guiding coach/GM worked because the players were being bashed for coming together...They played hard and wanted to prove everyone wrong...Took Spo a few years to get his legs under him...

Fact: no one other then Phil Jackson has ever won with the triangle

Phil isn't coaching. It seems he is even limited in how much he is able to travel. Also, Phil is behind Fish and Fish has veteran assistants that have won championships. I think Fisher figures things out.

Bottom line is this, the Knicks stink.

Fact: the few occasions a coach other than Phil has tried to run it, they had AWFUL teams- how many wins was that Kahn era Twolves team meant to win?! And the crap players it had didn't even fit the triangle- Kahn drafted two PGs for a system that doesn't even have much of a need for them! The Mavs of 1996-97 had talent but they were young and toxic chemistry wise- how many games were they suppose to win?

Fact: the media ignores the above fact because it tries to simplify ever ting into a damning statement by removing context.

The fact still remains that only Phill had success coaching the TRIANGLE.
