Knicks · HOW MANY DRAFT PICKS KNICKS HAVE THIS YEAR?????? (page 1)

Knicks1969 @ 12/23/2014 3:09 PM
I know we might endup with a top pick, do we have any other picks this season?
H1AND1 @ 12/23/2014 3:15 PM
No. We have a first and that's it. Then next year we go back to having zero picks in 1st and 2nd round. Yay!

Bargs better be very deep into Europe by then.

nixluva @ 12/23/2014 3:17 PM
I believe we only have one pick this year. Phil can get another pick if he wants to. I don't see that being a problem.

Whenever I am reminded that we coughed up a first rounder for mutherfuggin...Bargs....ugh....my left eyelid starts to spasm and I feel an overwhelming urge to light myself on fire.

Stupidest fargin' trade ever. Bargs is worthless and has been mostly worthless his entire career. Ugh. Drives me so insane. Whenever someone chimes in that he is actually a good man on man defender and hits midrange shots at 48% if only he were healthy i have to supress the urge to projectile vomit. The trade and Bargs himself, as a human basketball player, are beyond reproach.

Exactly in what range of picks would it be so easy to obtain one?

1) Phil brews some Mescaline containing tea from San Pedro Cacti ordered off the Darknet
2) Phil stokes the lava rocks in the sweat lodge
3) Phil enters sweat lodge naked
4) Phil "visualizes" 2nd round pick for sale
5) Somewhere in Philly Rob Hennigan dreams of a Kokopelli dancing and wakes up in a cold sweat
6) Phil's cell phone is ringing and Hennigan is on the other line in a fugue state, mumbling wildly about the Oroboros telling him to offer the Knicks their 2nd round 2015 pick in exchange for 5 pounds of herbal Ephedra, a sweet Navajo Dreamcatcher, some very powerful amethyst crystals, and a sculpture of the bust of the Maharishi cast in sandstone.
7) Extra 2015 pick acquired.

one day we need a come clean poll on the bargs trade.

One of the very reasons that people should start looking at real metrics (not stupid FG) and see the signs of a horrible player.

It seems like the Knicks have bought a second round pick almost every year for awhile. Teams sell those picks. He bought a pick last year.

I dont think it will be easy and I think were talking 20 and down. The cost would be swapping our 2017 pick(with top restriction) OR Tim Haradaway and in the 2nd round we have 3mm in cash.

I think you're making my point here. The premium picks in this draft are 1-10.

BRIGGS @ 12/23/2014 3:54 PM
Here would be my simple formula I "think" that I can get Stein or Ok4--the odds are almost 70% that I could do this.

IF I get a second pick 20 down--I would take a secondary big--one of Kaminsky Dakari Johnson Robert Upshaw or Zach Auguste. Im not sure at this point who i would take and obviously the first pick would effect pick #2.

I dont think Haws will be drafted or he will be picked in the late 50's. He is my Steve Kerr. If I buy a 2nd guys like Jerian Grant OR if one of the other bigs fell further--Id go there.

Knicks1969 @ 12/23/2014 4:18 PM
If it is not a top 3, the Knicks should look to trade that pick for multiple first rounder if it is possible.

I thought you were wondering if the Knicks had their 1st and second round picks.

That's what I thought too. Why is this somehow a bad thing for Phil to look to get a 2nd rd pick from some team that is willing to send one away? Is the question whether Phil can get another 1st rounder in the top 10?

It's not a bad thing, just probably inconsequential. I'm not excited about obtaining 2nd rounders as much as keeping first rounders going forward. The bargs trade was a disaster, and it's hard to counter that damage by buying mid-late 2nd round picks.

The good news is that this year we have a chance at a top 3 pick, next year however we better be good because we have zero picks thanks to the terrific bargs trade. In my opinion the biggest reason why the knicks have struggled the pasr 15 years is because they throw away picks constantly without even protecting any of the picks

Advanced stats were not necessary to determine barg's status as trash. That much could be gathered from a quick peruse of his rebounding and assist numbers alone.
