Knicks · Verajao out. Is there a Knicks deal here? (page 1)

nixluva @ 12/24/2014 12:35 PM
Could the Knicks possibly make a deal with Cleveland to give them a big for the rest of the year? Maybe STAT?
yellowboy90 @ 12/24/2014 12:39 PM
Hopefully they could give them Dalembert and Smith for waiters, haywood, jones and future picks.
CrushAlot @ 12/24/2014 12:43 PM
Sam for Waiters works. Sam and Pablo or Shane works for Tristan
smackeddog @ 12/24/2014 12:51 PM
Ha- I was just in the middle of creating this thread. I would give them Dalambert for expirings/trade exemption and a second rounder (or two). They are targeting Mosgov and Koufos, however I doubt they can land Mosgov (Nuggets seem keen on him), and Griz won't be helping out a team they could be facing in the finals. They should be desperate by the trade deadline. Even if they do get a starting C, they'd still need a backup. Dalambert is trash, but he's obtainable.

I think Waiters is pretty bad- he shows flashes, but those are just freak games, and he's a bad chemistry player- I'd rather not take on his salary. Cats value Tristan- they'd rather play him at C than Dalambert! Come on man- are you drunk on christmas cheer already?!

Dare to look at the cap ramifications of that Idea????

They want Mozgov, Kosta's, and on the cheap maybe our own Sam Dalembert.

They need size. Jose for Waiters and Dalebert.

Clev fails, its cold, Love leaves???? ramifications?

I think Waiters is tremendously talented but also has flaws that would make him available in a deal for a marginal big like Sam. Tristan is just a guy mentioned in every single cavs trade rumor and his salary is close to SAMs

Not one that would make a meaningful difference. If I were them I'd be on the phone with Boston discussing Brnadon Wright and if they can't work something out there then Memphis and Koufos. If they really can't work out a deal for a better player than we might be able to get one or even two 2nd rounders from them for Dalembert but nothing more than that. Hell, they might even give Jermaine O'Neal a shot before they bothered with Dalembert.

Hey look i'm just trying to scratch out any value we can get. If we could get anything for Dalembert that's a win!!! We have to start stockpiling assets and dropping dead weight. Cleveland will have to do something about this and we're at the least in possession of a C who wouldn't mess up their future cap.

knickscity @ 12/24/2014 1:53 PM
Dalembert would mess up their current team. He doesnt know his role. perhaps the Cavs may take a chance, maybe we get a 2nd rounder.

I can't imagine them taking Amare at all. cant even imagine a trade that makes sense.

At the least Dalembert would give them a decent rim protector and that may be all they really are looking for at this point. He's not a sexy pick up but he's healthy and a known quantity. If i'm Phil i've already been talking to them about a deal.

CrushAlot @ 12/24/2014 2:51 PM
Weren't there rumors in November that the cavs wanted Sam for Dion?
yellowboy90 @ 12/24/2014 4:28 PM
Sam is a pnr big that protects the rim. Let him play in a heqvy screen base offense and he would do better.

Memphis needs koufos and oneal is rumored to be going to Dallas maybe

BRIGGS @ 12/24/2014 4:29 PM
dalembart for their trade exemption and their Memphis 2015 first round pick and we will release Amare and if he goes to the Cavs--so be it:)

I like that, and he'd likely clear Waivers with his salary.
No doubt there is a risk he don't go there.
Lakers could put a bid in.

At 20 minutes a game he's really a waste.he isnt even a starter
Bonn1997 @ 12/25/2014 7:22 AM
I think Dalembert can play better than this. He isn't worth much but he should be worth a 2nd round pick to them.
RonRon @ 12/25/2014 8:15 AM
If Josh Smith to Houston isn't official, Cavs can get an injury exemption for Varajo that would be close to a bit over 4m
