Pat Beverley had a MCL tear but the doctors said he could not hurt it worse so he continued to play. However he could have been faking too since he was playing 40 minutes in couple of playoff games.
This board has too many Holiday inn doctors. smh

BRIGGS wrote:It's just insane. Maybe Phil came here to stick it to the Knicks for 5 more years. Where is the management/leadership--why she playing 43 minutes with a knee problem. Can someone explain to the fans why he is playing 43 minutes game? Also this style of play is terrible--it worked with MJ and Kobe--its not working here--its terrible. I can see using a triangle set a few times but you cant run a whole game like that. I want to see a sign that Phil actually works for the Knicks.
Phil hates Carmelo. He's trying to destroy that knee for good.

If his knee was actually jacked up
You might be on to something here but it's not
Melo is playing the Matyr-Warrior role because he and quite possibly
Phil Jackson knows fans like you exist in the millions
how do you know that?
It's physically impossible to play the minutes he plays
If he had a serious knee injury or even remotely serious
He'd be on a mandatory minutes restriction, instead of randomly aborting games
Not to resurface, look no further than 2weeks ago not playing in Chicago
Taking 2 days off coming back playing near back-to-back 40min gms
You said you're in the smart crowd right?
We've been through the injury ringer with Melo before
He needs to cut the crap and suck the season up
Play the games out in your normal fashion and stop
With the tragedy role playing through the media
No one feels sorry for you, you have tons of money to get you fixed up right
You really are an idiot!

Melo has yet to be diagnosed with any tearing in his knee
The worse diagnosis has been balky and aching
Until stated otherwise, chalk this up as old age and mileage
For his style of play and sport he plays
For the record Beverley missed 2 straight weeks,
Minutes were chopped in half last 2gms of playoffs
And supposedly got the spinning blood treatment on his knee in the off-season
So you're saying posters are Holiday Inn doctors
Yet the player is complaining of major knee discomfort and the
Team Professionals have yet to diagnose the seriousness of his injury
We've been through this before with Melo and the Torn Labrum
One who was chasing the scoring title simultaneously
Either someone is embellishing or someone is embellishing
Make no mistake about it, if we were 27-5 we would not hear 1 peep
About his injury seems to only come up when he's shooting bad
Or the team's record is bad
yellowboy90@ 12/29/2014 7:40 PM
yet to diagnose or yet to publicly disclose information is two different things. Yes the torn labrum that really never was torn. I forgot that it is also a mythical injury.
F500ONE@ 12/29/2014 8:01 PM
Yeah probably Knick doctors are the Holiday Inn caliber
The ones who had to seek professional help on Amar'e knees
When Phx doctors already told the entire universe his knees were effed up
I believe Melo hurts, he has tons of wear and tear on his body
Needs to suck it up or do the intelligent thing
And get on a maintenance program
But no way will I believe he's seriously injured

Javascript is not enabled or there was problem with the URL: Chris Herring ✔ @HerringWSJ Follow Asked Fish if there's a point where it makes more sense to shut Melo down. "Weve expressed our opinions to Carmelo" but ultimately up to him
Dywer shared this tweet from Herring today in his story. I am a bit cautious with Herring's interpretation of information after he misinformed the masses on Melo's contract and money upfront. Still at face value it sounds like Melo is being allowed to determine when he plays.

So Amar'e is listening as is J.R.
But Melo calls his own shots
The more things change, the more they stay the same
Oh and doesn't J.R. have a slight tear in his plantar fascia
Who hasn't played in over 2weeks, because when you're injured
It generally shows up in games missed or minutes reduced
