It's just insane. Maybe Phil came here to stick it to the Knicks for 5 more years. Where is the management/leadership--why she playing 43 minutes with a knee problem. Can someone explain to the fans why he is playing 43 minutes game? Also this style of play is terrible--it worked with MJ and Kobe--its not working here--its terrible. I can see using a triangle set a few times but you cant run a whole game like that. I want to see a sign that Phil actually works for the Knicks.
There is no rhyme or reason going on Briggs.
The Knicks are a headless chicken.
Phil is pre-occupied with his next bowel movement.
Those falling for "knee gate" shame on you

It's the perfect escape clause. Play the card in 2015. Tank hard
Melo plays as many minutes as he wants, every star has the right to tell the coach when he wants a breather.
We look exactly like we did the first preseason game of the season, absolutely nothing has changed at all.
Clearly the front office and the coaching staff consider this year a throwaway year and is trying to tank. There's no other explanation for why we would play our best player, and the only one who has a long-term deal, 40+ mpg on a bad knee.

I'm kinda wondering if this isn't the problem, more so than the lack of talent.
I'm all for the GM and Coach being in sync with a system and plan. But the same way I though MDA didn't adjust to personnel, I'm thinking that this is a very fair charge to place on both Phil and Fisher.

So as businessmen you will hire a bunch of workers and then will adjust you business to what they can do...
Sounds reasonable...
To be honest this team abandoned the TRIANGLE a lil while ago.
i'd love to think Melo's knee is a cover up excuse to tank and lose games ... but if the plan is to intnetionally lose games, you don't play him 43 min a game ... or is melo that much of a loser that having him on the floor so much increases our chances of losing ... i don't agree with the latter, but you can't buy into knee-gate/intentional tank and think it makes sense with playing him major minutes, if you think he's actually good.
see. knicks are twisted as fck no matter how you cut it.
business as usual under dolan.

There are too many irregularities at this point. If Phil is not in Fish's ear and letting him sink or swim, it shows. But how players are being handled when it comes to their health, injuries and minutes is getting weird. Even if I'd like to attribute some kind of foxiness to Phil for masterminding a tank, it is getting well past that point to the basic conclusion this is an epic disaster underway.
Give it up. Melo will only rest in February after he makes and starts in the Allstar game. He is protecting his brand and feeding his ego. This season is long gone
Now CA is playing against the Clippers. I guess Jim Dolans and Phil Jackson's strategy is to let Melo blow out a knee in a compensation type injury. We want to rewrite history with Bernard King.

isnt sports a bit different? you dont need to be licensed to practice basketball/baseball/football/hockey/etc in various states like lawyers, doctors, accountants or pass vendor certifications for IT. so adjusting to the skill sets of your players actually does make sense. you do not have to throw out your entire approach to how you want them to play, however these guys and future guys most likely will have limits. if you are gonna have them, get the best from them which most likely means adjusting things. the knicks are not gonna get a whole roster of guys who fit for maybe a few more seasons.

If his knee was actually jacked up
You might be on to something here but it's not
Melo is playing the Matyr-Warrior role because he and quite possibly
Phil Jackson knows fans like you exist in the millions

how do you know that?
It's physically impossible to play the minutes he plays
If he had a serious knee injury or even remotely serious
He'd be on a mandatory minutes restriction, instead of randomly aborting games
Not to resurface, look no further than 2weeks ago not playing in Chicago
Taking 2 days off coming back playing near back-to-back 40min gms
You said you're in the smart crowd right?
We've been through the injury ringer with Melo before
He needs to cut the crap and suck the season up
Play the games out in your normal fashion and stop
With the tragedy role playing through the media
No one feels sorry for you, you have tons of money to get you fixed up right

I said I am in the smart crowd? Ok, if you say so ...
I am smart enough to know not to make silly assumptions and claim them as fact.
Pat Beverley had a MCL tear but the doctors said he could not hurt it worse so he continued to play. However he could have been faking too since he was playing 40 minutes in couple of playoff games.
This board has too many Holiday inn doctors. smh
