Could be better all around Player.
Okafor is a PF. Hell of a scorer in the post with questionable defense and rebounding. Ceiling Could be Demarcus Cousins or could be Al Jefferson low(nice player but no game changer)
Towns is a legit Center with all around skillset, great rebounder. Will probably be the better NBA player
Willie Cauley-Stein(Kentucky) = TYSON Chandler maybe slightly better offensively
Either of the 3 will help he knicks tremendously depending on where we pick which will probably be in the top 3
Draft big. Address guard through free agency and/or trade
Top 3 are basically "shouldn't miss" talent.

Keith Van Horn was a "quality big."
My problem is this draft looks very much like that one... one great player at the top and about 4-5 that look like quality players.
Towns is a total project.. most of the bigs in this draft are.
After OK4 and Stanley Johnson I see a lot of luck involved. Could Towns be the next beast? Sure but if your going to tell me its a sure thing your guessing.
I hope if we dont get the #1 we do our research. We arent getting another chance like this anytime soon

Is there a draft back scenario? The only 1 I would be interested would be Denver with Nurkic #10 and 40 or a healthy Embiid and pick 16.
Yea knicks will have to do their due diligence even with the #1 pick. The great thing about this draft is that there isnt a KVH/Adam Morrison type player at the top. There are legitimate NBA PF/C's who should be able to help their teams in some capacity.
I just ask that we don't draft another tweener SF/PF. We have a lot of those already

no no... I didnt mean KVH as a skill set per say. Just that he was a really great college player and a good NBA player but my only point in bringing him up was to show the gap between #1 and #2. I see OK4 and a bunch of maybe. That can change very quickly but I think the only thing that keeps OK4 from being at the very WORST a borderline allstar is if he gets hurt. The other guys? Could be great. Could be not so great

People saying OK4 is the next Duncan but I would settle for him being Al Horford minus the shoulder surgeries.

He looked good against a good team in Louisville. He looked more complete and skilled offensively than Stein who puts ups up bigger numbers ovs crappy NCAA teams.
Again I like Stein but he is not a franchise game changer like Towns can become. Stein will help anchor our defense but Towns is far more skilled. Towns fills up the stat sheet.
OK4 might be great or he might be another disappointing Duke bigman in the pros. Solid but not great which is ok. Either way it's a gamble but I would still be happy with alone of the 3.
I have no issue wining the lottery and taking OK4. Worst case scenario we have a starting PF who will give us 12-15pts in the paint and allow us to run the triangle effectively through him.
I like Towns because he has the potential to do that plus anchor our defense.
Stein ould be like TYSON. Not the perfect fit for the triangle offensively but should help anchor the defense.
WE NEED:
Post big to run triangle effectively
Defensive anchor in the middle
Defensive shutdown PG with speed(Reggie Jackson type) or simply a defensive specialist
SG who can defend and hit open 3's(Wesley Matthews/Danny Green type)
Lastly, need Melo to truly buy in to the triangle.
The cap space we have should allow us to fix the guard positions. I don't want to use the cap space to overpay a big like Monroe. I don't want Dragic because he will be another turnstile defensively.
If we can just focus on needs instead of names we should be alright.
If you hit on the draft that you hit on a productive player who is yours and you're only for a few cost effective years

Exactly. I would even settle for Al Jefferson.
Just give us 12-15pts in the paint and run the triangle throw him. He is not averaging 25pts his rookie year especially playing with Melo
If its a good draft, I would consider trading top 3 for 2 top 15 picks...unless of course, 1-3 are can't miss.
