Boy does Phil continue taking the big hit on this trade
whoever gets him can waive him... the rest of his contract isnt guarenteed. There might be something to be had

Why would a team offer us anything
But dead weight salary which we need to preserve for 2015
I doubt Phil takes a salary hit for this yr[for tax reasons]
Nor next year[for available cap reasons]
With GMs knowing Phil is banking 10-15times their pay
They'll make him eat this decision and bank on the fact the $2mil saved
Is more precious at this point and they can get him for free

Is that how it works?
You tell us "Mr. Travis Wear is Part of The Knicks Future Nalod"
The obvious team is the Cavs but they could take the chance on him being cut.

If there trading him under this yrs stats, we should be able to get 2030 2nd rnd pick

I think most teams will see it as a poor system fit. Most of his per 36 numbers are the same besides his shooting. He is not a mid range shooter. He needs to be an occasional finisher on a heavy PnR spread the floor team. I am not saying that means teams will try to help the knicks out but they will see him as a useful by low asset. They know they do not have to give up much if anything at all.

He's 33 and he didn't have a great reputation before this year though. I think a team desperate for help at the C spot would give an expiring contract and mid to late 2nd round pick, but I don't expect more. I'd take that though

There was speculation Phil might just waive Sam when the trade first happened because only a portion of his deal was guaranteed. I think it was to create cap space to sign someone but did you expect Sam on the team after February? Cutting him now just saves money and opens up a spot. Not sure that Sam couldn't be held onto until the deadline and moved then though.

Actually I did think he'd contribute more than this. Career-wise, he's at least been a respectable bench player. It's probably a bad fit and the guy may be aging poorly. Believe it or not, he's been in the league since 2001

I thought so also. But when the trade happened there was media speculation that Sam might just be waived because of his unique contract. I thought Sam would slide into Tyson's spot nicely and put up similar numbers. But the team is not competing for anything and he was a one and done guy all along. I thought because of the partial guarantee on his contract that he was always a candidate to be traded. Hopefully he is moved.

Exactly. This is a league always willing to take risk on big and he is a big that can rebound and block shots on an expiring contract. If the knicks and Cavs want to do a deal they could easily make a swap of Shump/dalembert for Haywood/Waiters. That upgrades Clevland. As bad as Shumpert is he is still better than Waiters arguably on both sides of the ball. He is the better catch and shoot player and that's what they need.
Why Haywood is appealing is because his $10M salary next year is not guaranteed until august. Waiters rights would be revoked just like Shump.

If it was age don't you think his other numbers would be down? Also, if you look at his shot chart he was on a pace to shatter the shot atempts outside of 3ft.
I think he is a exactly who has been the past 3-4 yrs except this year he is being ask to take more shots away from the rim.
It will be hard to do a deal without a trade exemption . I was looking around for salary fits--not many that made sense. Even 3.8mm is tough to match.
This reminds me of Bargs. I doubt a team will trade for a player likely to be waived. But hey, we did it.

Yeah, that's the more likely scenario with aging being a distant second guess about what's happening

If were to be a playoff team like Phil sold
This stale bill of goods team and you believed it
Why would anyone think Sam wouldn't make it the whole season
Considering he was going to be our starter throughout
This is why Splat posted in the manner he did and spoke on
Conversing with posters and things not making sense
So we were going to be good but Dalembert was always sacrificial lamb day 1
And not be a contributor to the team's success
Or is this rationale of him being cut to save face in an experiment gone
Horrifically bad

Trying to follow the trade news. This came up in a quick search:
Despite speculation following the massive six-player swap with the Mavericks, The Post has learned Dalembert will not be waived by the Knicks in order to create a larger mid-level exception to spend on a July free agent.
He's going to be waived they already said it on msg
