not anymore ... IMHO
we can keep firing coordinators but that wont fix the root of the issue which is coughlin.
too old school for me .... and way too predictable / conservative

If I have to watch anymore shitty veterans play over more talented young players I'm going to scream.
mreinman wrote:conservative how? Dude he outcoached Belechik (again) to win another SB three years ago. They have had some bad luck with injuries and a couple high picks busted. When TC has a stacked team he's shown he's as good as any coach in the league. I dont see it.
Perry was a bad choice. Thats 100% on TC, but there is a track record there. The players ALL play hard. There are no chemistry issues and TC has evolved over the years to actually get better.
I just dont see what you guys do.

For most of his tenure, especially under kevin killdrive, I could predict about 80 percent of the play calls. Horrible.
He teams have been from the worst on special teams every single year.
Why not NO HUDDLE? Which Eli is probably a top 3 QB at.
His teams that won were not great teams and he did a good job. Eli who has been up and down was sensational in those games.
Coughlin is/was a good coach ... He is not that good anymore ... when do you want to let him go? When he is 102 years old?
He won for us and I will always be thankful but his time is up. OR WE CAN JUST KEEP FIRING EVERYBODY AROUND HIM EVERY YEAR UNTIL WE REALIZE WHAT STINKS.
mreinman wrote:totally agree with the specials. My #1 knock on him. Your wrong on Gilbride though... when the pieces where there that offense was not defensable and that showed in the playoffs. I mean this last season came down to bad defense, tons of guys getting hurt on D and a horrible offensive line. I didnt have a big problem with play calling.
TC isnt perfect by far, but I still put him up there.
He has had a couple of bad seasons for sure. Most of that is the Giants thought they could slap more tape on that title team and underestimates the holes there. They have not recovered from losing Snee and OHara first and foremost.
Look...I think the Giants need a 10-6 season next year otherwise I agree I think its time for a new voice. But his past performances and the holes in the roster give me stay for now... he's earned a long leash and there is never an effort issue.

1000% agree. TC is an amazing coach, who pivoted ten years ago to "soften" his approach to player relationships and ended up winning TWO Superbowls. We have fixed the offensive side of the game even with a struggling O-line. Now it's time to bring back Spags or bring in Fangio and "fix" the other side.
There's one more chip for the NY Giants in the Manning era. Mark my words.

without the rings I would be Splatting. With the rings, I will just be ok with not liking that he is still here.
Gilbride had pieces but was horrible and thick headed. He did have some complex plays but way too many other issues.
Can we have a game were we don't have delay of games? Do we always need to take the play clock down to 2?
Can we go for 5 on 3 and 3 instead of for 50?
Second down draws?
Screen passes?
No Huddle?
Early Play Clock?
Can we move the pocket sometimes?
Special Teams?
Blaming / Firing Coordinators every season.

Agree with this, too. If we can get a stud LB in the first, we do it. Otherwise we get a building block OT followed by a DE in the second.

And he's had some genuine lemons along the way, but winning two SBs is epic. One more and its dynasty, and these were no Fassel like playoff cakewalks. He went to the toughest places and beat the best teams in the league. Twice. Two titles. Guys here would give their mothers to ISIS for the Knicks to win two titles in that kind of span. Hell... DJ tried and it didnt work so he's a Raptors fan now.
2 titles. No shortcomings you listed (which are ALL legit) can tarnish or take away from those. 2 man.... thats the bigtime

So you (like me) feel that Tom and Eli deserve untouchable treatment because of the SB's.
I think that they do. The question is, for how long?
Either way, whenever we deem their time to be up, I will love them forever. They have provided me with 2 of the greatest victories in sports history.
SPORTS HEAVEN.

Coughlin and coaching aside, Giants have to really HIT on several drafts in a row. Coaching is much easier when you are stockpiled with talent.
Yeah ... ODB saved Jerry's job.

After winning 2SB, Coughlin deserves to finish his career on his own terms, but out coached Belicek? Stop it...The Giant formula worked...The front 4 put pressure on the QB(Brady) where he was scared in the pocket ..That held their offense in check enough for Eli to make a couple of lucky passes(come on, you know Eli doesn't accurate hit guys like that with frequency)..But that said, We aren't losing because of TC..Offensive needs major patches..LB and secondary needs help...We need back the notable Giant Pass rush...We need a RB..We have major holes and I think Beckham Jr. made us forget that in the end..So axe the DC, who deserved it by the way..But it's more than him...

He drafted well enough to win two Superbowls in 5 year with his draft choices as key pieces..
Think Jets would love to have him as GM??
