That dude speaks the truth. He just undressed Carmelo in first take. You all have to check out what he said about the Knicks.
Vmart @ 1/7/2015 3:35 PM
What did he say?
mreinman @ 1/7/2015 3:39 PM

By the way, just think about this:

Those mid sesaon euro games are not just about London, but broadcast on Euro time and is a big event. Great opportunity to showcase a team like the knicks and extend the brand.
So Melo, or any star is damn near expected to play. If it was the spurs, be assured his best players would be playing. If Clev, Lebron plays. Really, a selfish player would not play.

And.......

All star game in NYC. Usually its a showcase for the host city and its team.

So for phil to blow it to bits and do what is right in the face of an embarrasment speaks volumes to the change of culture. Dolan must be horrified. personally I think he is sedated.
Its sucks, but what are ya gonna do? Put a patch on it and hope for another woodson run?

I give Woodson credit, he kept the team together pretty well. 37 wins last year was not easy task.

Melo will rock the bolo hat for sure!!!!!! F500, I'd advise you not watch!!!

Good grief that was embarrassing on all levels yet so true

It's important to have Melo in the All-Star game and have him play well. You want the best to feel NYC and understand it can be a special place with a top level talent.

We were told it was important for us to be playing well

And showing the triangle is a successful system TODAY

We're 5-32

The All-Star game literally is so trivial right now

In the grand scheme of things, the only ones who care are

Melo and the Knicks brass-suits

I guess you are correct....Carmelo can perhaps use the moment to recruit talents to come to NY

The NBA, the networks, the sponsors and Melo's sponsors.
And believe it or not, the many many Melo fans!!!!

They want to see him play and entertain. Don't be so naive to think this is not a business.
Can't say I disagree with SAS but his delivery is off the charts! Preach it SAS!!!!!

There have been several stars who sat the event out

Stars way bigger than Melo, he can be a host slash master of ceremonies

But to show up in uniform and play half arse minutes

Or ball out of control as if nothing is wrong with his knee is preposterous

Stephen A. Smith said it best it's such a joke

No one associated with either New York team should show their face not even himself

I love your double standard reasoning here too

When the Knicks are on TNT tonight what's highlighted in bold does it still matter Naloddy Doddy

Are sponsors concerned tonight if Melo is playing a top team in the Western Conference

Isn't this like the 2nd or 3rd game Melo has missed where we've been televised does business matter then

Do his fans disappear tonight and then reappear like he will come London and All-Star Game

Is that how the Fake Life works

Have you actually looked at the metrics, the demographic viewership draw for an All-Star game

It's a joke much like your reasoning, hardly anyone watches that game

Ohio State Buckeye Mascot Head Face is a Meloptoutunist

Many stars sit out. Good to name a few examples. ALso, list each particular injury and where they are with it. What does melo have wrong with his knee?
He describes it as a "pebble in his shoe", it hurts but can play with it.

While SAS can get ratings in the same manner you are redundant, its possible he could play thru this injury and the whole "Sitting out" is two fold:

1. He is part of the tank
2. He is hurting and sitting is a precaution

Is the knee hurting or unstable? I think if unstable he doesn't even leave the house. Guys play hurt more than we know.
part of the 124 mil he gets is to play even when hurt. Non of this suprises me. I think we are resting him and I for all I know he is not really hurting that bad.

Double standard or objective thought process? SOme people think or discuss different views.

Rockets knicks tonite?? Im not watching it. I don't know why the NBA is even letting it go thru. The announcers won't call the game, if its a Rocket feed they'll talk about the knicks problems for the causual viewer. Most of us here can write a book on it!

SAS can yell from the roof about a 5-32 team should not have a player representing. IN a pure world I would agree with that. But in the real world were most of the adults reside its not a double standard to think in terms of the buisness aspect. SAS is an entertainer. If your motivated hook, line and sinker by his rants then good for you. Media anger sells and your lapping up the pearl neckace it gives you! Good to the last drop!

You rant about melo like he is a Wrestling villan!!!!

Moonangie @ 1/8/2015 10:44 AM
That's literally the first time I liked SaS. I guess he's a (secret) Knicks fan after all. Wonder if ESPN wants to fire him now.

He's totally right about Melo. Shut his ass down. The all-star game doesn't matter, but if he really wants to play in it, fine. But SHUT HIM DOWN right afterwards. Jax and Melo owe it to the next four years to protect the investment in him as a player. Nothing else matters. If Dolan wants to weep about the Benjamins, let him. Who cares.

nixluva @ 1/8/2015 10:45 AM
WHO CARES WHAT SAS THINKS? This guy is just talking out of his ass and grandstanding for his own benefit. It's up to Melo if he wants to play or not.
misterearl @ 1/8/2015 10:48 AM
As any self-proclaimed Knicks fan, Steven A matters. He has the plat fess it to state an opinion. Whether you care about why he says is a personal choice. Either way, he has a right to an opinion.

Melo is being an opportunist to pick the marquee games to make an appearance. Either he is injured or not.

If he is not 100 per cent, what is the point of playing?

Almost no player is 100% healthy at this point in the season. Both of you don't know exactly what is wrong with Melo and so it's hard from here to question his right to play thru pain or not. If he's been told that it's not a career threatening issue and that it's up to him whether he wants to play thru the pain then it's up to him. Players in all sports play with swollen joints or have to heavily tape a body part and still play on all the time. No one questions the Football player who plays thru pain or with a cast on, but with Melo we have to jump on him. I can understand the feeling of wanting him to shut it down, but it is his decision.
