Knicks · Langston Galloway senior game 10 3's one game (page 1)

Galloway is not a super athlete but has long arms(which has allowed him to be an excellent rebounder for his size proven over 4 years at St Jospeh's) for a guard and was one of the best shots from 3 ball land in CBB. He is definitely something of a 1.5(between g and PG) but I dont think that matters. It would be nice if he could show a consistent 3 with good on ball defense and continued rebounding.

could really help to get a young cheap guy at that position. Briggs think he could be as good as Calderon?

His D-League aren't that impressive. Did he have a slow start?

Maybe he can learn, assimilate. Jose is seen as a good team guy. Work with a solid pro can do wonders for a young guy.

His stats need not be that great. There have been Dleague guys that light it up but can't do it at the next level and are not doing other things well enough.

We talking about assimilation and triangulation!! I would not expect too much but if he can show some promise its about getting role players.

That would not take much.

He is in the top 25 for the prospect watch. Somewhere after 20 but before 25. I believe he leads the dl in some defensive stats but I don't recall specifics. I 'll see if I can find them.

Here it is:
Galloway does far more than just score. He averages 5.9 rebounds per game -- an astonishing number for a guard. Defensively he leads the entire league in both steals and defensive win shares. He's a rugged guard who usually finds himself in the middle of the action on D.

This was a good article from a few days ago.

I like what I have seen so far. Offensively, He moves really well without the ball; he sees the court like a PG, but appears to be a little inconsistent shooting the ball. On defense, he moves his feet formidably, and uses his hands as he should. I will better assess him if he gets minutes tonight. He and Larkin can perhaps be our best defending guards. Priggioni is nice too, but he no longer has the young legs.

Galloway has the longest wing span I've seen in a while. He's only 6'2 but his wing span is 6'8".....that's freaky. He could be a dominant boxer

A 1.5 is exactly the kind of guard that excels in the triangle right?

He was not hesitant and he actually was telling guys where to go in a few sets.

I am hopeful he can be a piece for the bench at the very least.

A little off topic, but I can't believe the Knicks aren't interested in bringing Glenn Rice Jr. for a look. I don't know his attitude has been since turning pro, but the kid has torn it up in the summer league, D-League and training camp. I thought he was a better prospect than Otto Porter when he was on the Wiz.
