Is Kentucky squaring off against Duke at some point this year. That would be must watch television eventhough Ok4 will be guarded by Stein & Towns
only potentially in the final four.... would be a good matchup...

What you want to investigate on all draft pics is their work ethic and how well they take to coaching. Then you must surround them with the coaching they need to work on their flaws and improve their strong suits. One thing I like about a rookie coming to NY is that they will not be expected to be the man. They are still going to be anointed as a team savior but their work load can still be small enough to not fall into bad habits as star rookies on bad teams fall into.
What does worry me is that "one and dones" at duke do not come out with a defensive mind set.

I think the chances of the pick being traded after being selected is low. There are not any players available that are worth a top 7 pick and definitely not a top 4. Well, maybe Cousins but I doubt they give up on him and I doubt Phil would trade for him.

I agree....which is why Steins stock is quickly increasing....Everybody is scouting Towns, and realizing that Stein is actually more advanced right now with his balance, mature game as a big and how light on his feet he is, with great agility to run and catch at his size....He's also motivated and plays with energy....something you can't teach. Towns could turn out to be the best prospect in the draft. But as of right now, he's way behind some of the other guys thats in the top 5....Towns is purely a potential pick and he might even drop a few notches on draft day. I can see Towns and Stein getting drafted right next to each other.

I agree with most of what you wrote. The jury is still out.
Stein's stock is climbing and Ok4 is actually dropping right now.
Towns is far from an unknown though. He is playing 20 minutes a game and producing at a high level on one of the best and deepest teams in a long time.
Phil is not gonna take a chance on mudiay ... can't take that risk that can destroy his already tarnished legacy.

I can live with either OK4 or KAT. however, in terms of my thinking about what the Knicks needs most I've been on a KAT tip for a while now cuz I think we need a defensive anchor and a big that can also score from multiple areas of the floor. It's just a matter of maximum value. One player who covers so many areas of the game. It's how you build a great team.
Then as we add quality 2 way free agents it will serve to form a winning core with defense at its base as well as offense. We have to have that and to get all that in one low cost player is priceless.
Stein showed why he should not be considered that high because he lacks skill
stein isn't great with the ball in his hands but his defensive value shown through...
he went step for step with jerian grant the WHOLE length of the floor... that is just an impressive feat for anyone let alone a center...
he won't do it here but he'll be a solid big for years...

It was a great defensive move. Grant had 3 guys on him but with time ticking he never saw or could kick the ball out to an open man.
Irish got tired last nite down the stretch. UK was ripe for the taking.
I think Towns probably earned himself a spot over oak last night. So many lengthy fishes with touch at the rim. Everyone saw that he looked unstobbable even his misses were point blank. The truth is pick 1 and 2 have moved back and forth all year. Okafor has been the most consistent and even dominating at times. But what we saw last night I've only seen from towns one time where he just repeatedly set up in the post and just dominated with extension power and touch. Usually its his d that is superior if he had 3-4 games like this if he didn't recklessly play at times he would've held number 1all year.

That's what I observed earlier, his extension. He may be harder to stop than OK4 because of it. He could be fairly unblockable whereas OK4 seems to overcome height with dexterity which is easier in college.
