The one guy we get in that trade--Alex Kirk, a 6'11" C who plays hard, has a good jumper and blocked a lot of shots his last 2 years in college, youngest of the 3 guys we got back too btw--is the only one in that trade worth keeping and evaluating but we're not interested. Yet we wanna take another look at Lance Thomas and Lou Amundson? Not only that, we wanna cut these guys then immediately sign them back to cheaper deals, something I feel may have cost both players a nice chunk of change? LMAO! Can't make this stuff up. God forbid we hung onto Kirk, even for 10 days, just to see if he was anything like Chris Kaman.. What upside do these other two possess and how do they help us this year exactly??
This is even worse then the Tomas signing... Why not green or curry why? It just seems stupid to me and a typical knick move ... I thought with Phil we were over that.. I think we need to start some chants to get Phil's attention like we want Seth curry and we want j green... Come on dude maybe Phil needs to hire better talent evaluators

Hopefully Stein got this wrong. But both guys are reported to be really solid locker room guys. Sam and JR were not good examples for the young guys. Not sure about Shump. Last year his screaming at, getting in woodson's face, and constant brooding may not have been what Phil/Fish wanted.
We signed BOTH Amundson and Lance Thomson to 10 day deals. I like bringing in Amundson- we need cheap hard working vets too, to keep the young players on the right track- never underestimate that (see our team with Kidd, Camby and Kurt)
However, this makes it look like we have no interest in signing Nate Wolters, at least for now.
I think we're going to be opening some roster spots soon. Why else sign 2 big men? Both guys are like quincy acy. Maybe Phil is trying to show the type of player he wants. High character/high energy

Both those players lack skill but are known as good locker room guys and hard workers- behold our new culture!
