Yeah... it's a business. 10 day contracts are more flexible. They get a trial run. So cares if these guys lost money. They don't seem to care since they resigned.

I got a feeling the guys that started the last game against Houston are all going to be gone. And so well Amare and Bargs

I think it's a dick move. Hoopshype says this guy was owed about 400k for the rest of the year. How much did we really save here? We couldn't have paid him that amount if our intent all along was to keep him?? You mean to tell me we had to cut him where presumably some of that money (maybe all of it) wasn't guaranteed and now lost, then turn around and lowball him with a new offer? You're right though--he doesn't seem to care as it's being reported that he's agreed to re-sign a 10-day deal with the Knicks. If the Knicks did that to me and then came back with some lowball offer, I'd tell them to go scratch. So weird. Technically it's good business I suppose but I can't really get behind it. If you wanna save the small amount of money, cut the guy and move on. But they want him though.. Dolan's a multi-millionaire -- pay the guy the 400k. On the verge of doing the same thing with Lou Amundson too...With a stunt like this, I can see why Prokhorov called Dolan "the little man" when he first took over the Nets. That pissed me off at the time, big foreigner outta nowhere shootin' his mouth off, but maybe the Russian's right after all.

Berman is implying it is a Fisher/Thunder connection. Supposed to be a good locker room guy. Who knows?

Kind of like when Berman gave the reason for

The MBangedOn camp signing this summer

That led to him not making the team

This Player Fraternity Triangle Nepotism Tree ish needs to stop

I don't know that it is accurate. Berman has no sources. I think he makes assumptions and every once in awhile is right.
Nalod @ 1/9/2015 11:05 PM
I suppose they didn't have to bring him back?
Maybe he was gonna get cut anyway?
Maybe he was free to sign else ware for money, and if not, he got a place to play?

Stop projecting we just screw guys. Knicks have a history of paying well!

Yeah paying the wrong guys and if history

Is your indication this summer should be a doosy

Why not bring in a true 7 footer and give him a try???

You mean like resign 7ft Alex Kirk and make it

A traded for, waived, and resigned Trifecta

I really want to ask Phil what gives this is a typical bull shit knick move.. Why are we wasting our time with garbage like this when there are diamonds in the rough like curry and green just waiting to be signed to 10 day .... Someone needs to tell Phil to get on the talent wagon cause this team needs talent period

I don't know specific $s here so feel free to correct me.

He's signed at what I assume to be league minimum, which becomes guaranteed ...tomorrow? So we cut him and no one signed him. We offer him a 10 day at $_____ (maybe it turns into several 10 days), after which MAYBE he's signed to a prorated league minimum salary.

I don't see how anyone is screwed here. Seems like a smart way for the team to evaluate. If he's even worth evaluating, that's a different story...

Are you talking about Steph's little brother? How good is that kid?

He is having an amazing season in the d league. He will sign a 10 day in the next two weeks. He is shooting over 50% from three and is playing the 2 guard this year.

Overreaction on my part. Still weird situation all around. And yeah, back to the original point: are these guys even worth evaluating?

I just think you guys are making a big deal out of nothing. Same with not getting anything in that shump, jr smith deal. Sometimes you just do what you have to do in sports. Maybe they did contact Seth curry and that green guy.....maybe both players told the Knicks to fuck off so then they just decided to bring the players in for a look.

I highly doubt 2 DLers looking for a call up to the show told the Knicks to fuck off, man. Come on.

Nalod @ 1/10/2015 8:04 AM
Really guys, all upset over thinking Dleaguers as if they are saviors and phil is negligent?

Like a bunch of old men looking for reasons to get pissed off any anything. Spin it all that Phil is old, negligent, stupid, never been a GM, is not on the job, counting his money, etc. Throwing out gossip.

Know why Gossip is popular? Makes ordinary self loathing people feel good about themselves.

If you think Phil make a dick move why can't a d league guy do the same? If Seth curry was so good he'd be in the nba. He's had a few shots already

SO good that he gets to pick what team he signs to....that's why he's still in the D league.
