Let's not be too quick to trade him; I believe he could be a better player with the right mix of guys around him. He is definitely not in his element when the ball is in Calderon'hand. It is so for many reasons. Calderon slow the flow of the game and is always looking to run triangular sets which he is not capable of doing. He waste a lot of the shot clock by over dribbling, which always force a rushed jumper at the end.
I believe a line up of Larkin, Hamilton, THJ, Early, and Cole can be very good. It will at least be a lot more entertaining to watch. It would by far be more athletic, and a lot quicker pace than what we have seen from the Knicks thus far. If we could find a big 7 footer that we could use with the guys I just named, it would give us a lot of hope.

Early or Wear could play that position for now. Precisely why I said we need a true 7 footer

THJ's ceiling is a poor man's JR Smith.

Give him to the Spurs, Popovic will sure turn him into a D Green type of player

It will be the only thing that they have in common.
And, he would never end up there because POP ain't an idiot.

I am telling you folks, that kid can be coached.
Finestrg@ 1/10/2015 9:26 PM
It's a real shame--Hardaway's value is beyond low at this point. God forbid he went out there and shot the ball well one of these games--I mean can we see a 25-30 pt. game in defeat here? Does the kid have it in him? Even a couple of games like that might bring his value back up to respectability. No choice but to keep him at this stage and try to build him back up. I don't think we could get a book of matches back for him right now.
A pick back for Timmy is out of the question at this point.. But maybe eventually we might be able to flip him for a bench player or a young end-of-the-rotation guy that some team may not have in their plans. That's provided Timmy can increase his value somewhat. I mean WTF -- opportunity is wide open for a guy like Timmy here. The team is going nowhere, practically all of our primary players are out and there's plenty of shots to go around and opportunity to spare---I can't believe he hasn't stepped up and played better, even a little better... Just looking around the league at other teams' rosters, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the Mavericks' Ricky Ledo and/or Dwight Powell--I think these two players could really help us next year. Even if we could get Dwight Powell for THJ straight up. The Mavs might be looking for a SG for next year with some youth/height/upside (grabbing Timmy might afford them the opportunity to then flip Ledo to another team for a pick or to fill another need) and we could definitely make good use of this guy Powell. He's like a souped up version of Kris Humphries--a real mobile 6'10" PF who can rebound, post up, shoot the ball real well and he can really get to the rim quickly for a guy that big, either finishing on the break or facing up and driving on a defender in the half court.

You simply can't be a good Team when your coaching staff is horrible. I don't care who you bring in as players, if the coaching staff Does not improve, we will continue to suck. Start by replacing one of the current coaches, and see where that leads. Fisher is a rookie, he needs someone from a winning program next to him to advise him.
yellowboy90@ 1/10/2015 10:04 PM
I said last year that he is probably Courtney Lee at best and Lee was traded smartly after his 1st year. Lee is just now starting to be a above average player. Last year was good and this year has been great.
You can find what hardaway does easily. I bet if Seth Curry came in he would do better rebounding and assisting while shooting the 3 ball lights out.
PassTheBall@ 1/11/2015 6:03 AM
Trade him. I think he has confidence issues.
But might not make sense to trade him while is value is as low as it is...
Bottom line is I am no longer expecting anything near greatness from him.

I'm close to this cuz i believe he has confidence issues.
John starks tasked about how he made the Knicks team and how he wanted to force the Knicks to keep him cuz he was going to play his ass off. He eventually got his opportunity and never let it go.
My point is the player has to want it. This developing players is ridiculous. Either you can play or not. They don't need to pay around better players or better coaches. This is their careers. Either you can play or not. You don't place blame on anyone but yourself if you can't make it.
THJR this year has shown a sophomore jinx. He needs to get his act together. He should be dropping 20 being the #1 option on this dismal knick team. That's nobodys fault but his own.

Erm, Rambis was on the championship lakers teams, Cleamons was on the championship Bulls teams, and we have 2 assistants from OKC

Likely if Hahn's saying that, he is as grumpy as we thought and we're looking into shifting him

he has all the makings of a journeyman player: inadequate defender, streaky shooter, no playmaking ability.
also, i wonder if his last name wasn't hardaway if knicks fans would think differently.

We should have drafted Gobert, drafting Tim Hardaway JR while we had inconsistent shooters already and needed literally EVERYONE OTHER POSITION as our strongest position was SG at the time
Mason Plumlee was drafted one before us that year Vucevic was drafted one before Iman's draft as well
Both these guys could have traded the dynamic of the team Gobert had the highest potential among the players at our pick and filled a need to replace Chandler but we got a GUNNER instead
Phil Jackson will not repeat this mistake the past coaches/GM's made, we will get ping pong balls this season While teams like Celtics, Philly, has like 10-15 picks in the next couple of years, we have 1 and if it isn't a TOP 2 pick, it will probably be impossible to recover in the shorter term

Assistants....none of them led a team to a successfull season as a head coach. We need a former head coach wbo knows how to coach in big moment
fitzfarm@ 1/12/2015 12:51 AM
People need to give Timmy a break he's only in his sophomore year. And playing for a bonehead coach that is in need of some serious hand holding on how to coach a nba basketball squad ... Esp in terms of substation ...
It's a shame thjr is fishers scape goat for how bad his starting line ups defense is in general. if fisher used his brain he would pull caldron for his Swiss cheese defense that always leaves a player open from 3 and before you know it were down by 20..
fisher could bench caldron first for his god awful defense and poor pg play. Jose is a vet that can handle criticism and probably play with a little more aggression when he got his # called after being benched for poor play...unlike a kid in his sophomore year like thjr who needs to play through his mistakes and gain confidence.. That's coaching 101 fisher really needs to learn
