None of these trades are remotely doable unless Melo gets on the court and proves that he's healthy though.
I used to be high on Love but not anymore..There is now way I would swap Melo for Love..I think we are now seeing why Love teams have never been to the playoffs..
Getting out of Melo's contract is the major reason to do the trade, though I'm OK with Love the player.
Irving is the problem and a big one. He does not seem to make those around him better.
Love can't defend too well and is not hitting his 3 ball at a good rate but he is still having a solid season. Blaming him is just silly.
If they were smart they should trade Kyrie for a kings ransom.

He is down in 2pt fg% too. He is also down in rebounding(career low per 36) and is down in ast from last year but you can not give him partial blame? Add on all of that with his poor defense and he is part of the problem.

Getting out of Melo's contract??...What is Melo's contract stopping the Knicks from doing??..Who can't we get because of Melo"s contract??
And just for the record, Minn lost Love and they're going to win 30 less games than last season.

He doesn't like Melo the player at that price. So he would get out of Melo contract to give Love a similar contract because to him he is the better player. So super max fills in which is okay because he is younger. So the potential for super duper Max Love will be on the horizan when he opt out after year 4.

everyone gets blame.
His numbers were expected to be down just as Bosh's were down. He is not getting the same passing opportunities and he is still at 10.5 rebounds per game but it is a diff team/offense.
I blame him for not hitting his 3 at a good level.
And, as bad as he is doing, his TS is still at a very good 56.5.
Lets see how it plays out.

yeah but Love never took his team to the playoffs so he sucks.

Yup just like Garnett sucked the first decade or so of his career when MINN got bounced year after year in the first round

I'm not 100% sure I'd keep Love but I also don't think Love's max contract would be close to the amount of Melo's. Also, it's not just about who's the better player. You have to look at age too.

You saw my scenarios, if it was dreamable to reality
I'd get rid of Love and Kyrie, because neither exude
Championship caliber level of play and I'm not sure
About either ability to play within the triangle, maybe Love more so than Kyrie
But we're talking about 2 totally allergic to 2-way play players
Maybe of the modern era next to Melo
You do realize that Kyrie and love have never played for a winning team; at least I hope.

I included age in my post. As if right now he would make about $11M total less. Which will more than likely go up slightly once they figure out the new cap. He also could opt-in then get the super mega max early in '17 instead of '20.

My bad about overlooking age. 11 mil less is significant though I was expecting more. I also would make sure he doesn't have a no trade clause.

They will have better draft picks now that Love is gone, they don't make the playoffs anyway...

Rubio, Martin, Pecovic have all been out majority of the season so far. Doesn't really demonstrate Love's impact.
On a side not Wiggins has been balling the last 2 weeks. Bonified 2-way player with high ceiling offensive and defensive game.
Cavs fucked up

Sure it does....those guys missed chunks of the season last year and the year before.

Not really as Rubio, Martin and Pecovic are all out at the same time. If they come back they can win games so it wouldn't be a 30 games less. Last season Minny was pushing hard for the playoffs. This yr they are looking more so to develop young players.

My goal has never been to get high draft picks or grow young players...Thats a crap shoot...I prefer to build around a talent you already have...
