a 2015 #1 2016 #2 Eric Greene and Mcgee for Bargs and the right s to that foreign guy we drafted.
Wed still have a maximum cap slot for 2015 but that would give us two #1 picks a 2016 2nd rounder and a good prospect at the PG. If we did end up with Okafor Mcgee if healthy would be fine as a rim protecting big for a year.
At this point I'm skeptical that the Knicks will be able to convince any of the marquee free agents to sign this summer. I think these are the kinds if moves they need to start thinking about with the cap space. They can take on bad contracts in exchange for picks and prospects.

I want to make sure we keep atleast a full maximum contract spot open. But if anyone thinks were just using cap space on free agents--they're likely way off. We can use the space reasonably now. If we dont trade Calderon--we can waive and stretch him EOY and pick up 4.7mm to spend in addition to what we might have.
Agree 100%, but even with another max guy, this team next year still isn't going to be that good. They need to find a way to get into the first round of the draft next year as a hedge against another losing year in 2015-2016.
Taking McGee's contract into the cap space we have seems like a good way to achieve that. David Lee deal is another. The only problem with that is that Gs's pick probably won't be high enough to justify taking back that kind of money.
What other bad contracts am I missing?
Nuggets are interested in acquiring picks
Not giving them up, have you followed their last couple trades?
I don't like McGee at all.....I would only do this deal if they are offering a top pick
