Knicks · first time I will say this coach scks (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 1/15/2015 3:47 PM
hes terrible---I guess thats perfect for this year but he needs dramatic improvement.

I like that coach from Virginia Bennett---awesome defensive philosophy and schemes

Phil got his buddy 25mm but hes not ready to earn that type of $

Agree. I also think the triangle is just not working out- its some combination of the players not being smart enough and the coaches not being able enough to teach it/run it.

We're not this bad. No way. Smith leaves- and he is a knuckle head- and suddenly becomes decent again?

of course it does!

and btw, our coach sux too.

Well...if the coach sucks then all of his "veteran hand picked by phil" assistants, who come from phils championship years must suck too huh....Now this is the Briggs Im used to disagree with. Fisher doesnt suck....hes just forced into a situation hes not ready for. And if i know Phil....Fisher and his staff arent going anywhere. I dont think Phil will except anymore blame that he already has. So letting him go would be a major blow to phils reputation. The only thing that will change is the roster. Now if Fisher and company looks like the cavs coach next year. And we are a .500 team around the sametime, then thats different. So get used to Fisher unfortunately. I agree we need a seasoned coach. Every move must be with minimum risk. Hiring a rookie coach comes with risk. So i understand the concern.
My question is this.....arent we doing the same thing we did with dantoni? Drafting and adding players to fit the triangle? Instead of adding talent and see what shape you have when put together? Seems like weve been down this road before. But i still believe in phil...so i believe in Fisher. Wait til next year when we have a better team to judge Fisher. This is a good learning year for him.

Briggs,
I could not have said it OR agree with you more
150% agreed!

Forget the lack of wins and Top picks in June draft 2015 (we'll be there)

Problem I have with a Derek Fisher team is this NEWYORK KNICK TEAM HAS NO GUTS!
No fire, no anger..to compete

I blame it all on Coach Fisher, he's terrible
At least have some guts and what he's shown for his $25 mil robbery pay-salary
is Fisher is a Gutless coach whom wasnt the same gritty, borderline chippy solid Star he was in NBA with 5 rings
whom would take you're head off down the lane, for his KOBE Lakers

The guts and failed attitude of sorry bunch of feel-sorry for themselves disgrace called
Knickerbockers is alot down to the demeanor of Derek Fisher. He is very low keyed too non-chalant
too un-emotional = NO GUTS NBA Coach.

Let him get a new team 2015/16 from Oct.-Jan 2016,
with new roster, If Fisher keeps being the same way with no teachings of nothing
he'll be looking for another job next season !

I cite a job not a NBA Job!
Pathetic attitudes of entire team is directly reflections of a Coach whom got paid $$$$$

Vmart @ 1/15/2015 4:30 PM
Fisher is doing an awesome job. I'm very okay with what h is doing. Remember this is for the future, Fisher is doing the dirty work that should have been done many years ago.

Knicks are definitely worthy of mediocrity/mediocre coach.

Absolutely hes perfect for now. But starting next year we need to see some improvement.

I have no doubt you will see that. You look at the staff he has around him and that should tell you that what is happening is what needs to be done.

How is a guy supposed to run an offense that everyone needs to buy into to function with guys who won't be here next season.
Cartman718 @ 1/16/2015 7:58 AM
my problem is not even his coaching... just his general demeanour during games. you have to be a different person, you have to evolve into a different person as a coach. phil jackson the player and phil jackson the coach are not the same personality.

i really thought derek fisher was not only capable of that but would also have been very adept.... now i am not so sure.

all i see is a stubborn person.

I've thought this - and I think its a major part of the equation to explain the vile performance this year.

And Phil should have seen this was about to happen before the season started- and probably shouldn't have made the Calderon trade- though it might have been the best available (in terms of getting us talent/cap relief)

Perhaps like Larry, he thinks paid professional's should go about and do the job and audition to either be retained or show well for free agency?

I think Andrea if healthy would thrive in the offense.

Free agents often have "Contract years". JR could have opted out for a raise if his play warranted. Shump has a lot to play for.

I think Tyson was very down on playing with some of the guys and lost faith in his mates. Thats why he was a problem. I also don't think his value was that great via trade. Remember the trade was more about just Calderon. Felton was also done and keep thing those two would have further stressed the team. Two more guys with nothing to play for.

Dalembert came in and gave us very little, Caldeone has been bloody awful but little reason as to why other than he missed first month of the season. Cleanthiny might be a nice asset in the future.

Nothing wrong with questioning what is 5-36 cuz everything is going wrong!!!

I know the media have been saying this, but I don't get it- these guys will make up our bench, some of them will be here. Thats why we're sticking with the triangle, seeing who can play within it so they can be our bench next year. If they can't be bothered to motivate themselves, then good riddance.

Fishers idea of developing, is throwing a guy on the court and not giving them any define role, or even playing them for extended minutes, so they can get comfortable in their suppose role. It makes no sense at all, and clearly is having zero impact, in fact it's having a sub zero imapact.

Its not about "Now" is it?
A few will stick beyond the season and are playing for raises and fulfil their dreams!
Also, they will scrimmage it.
This is how its going to be. Triangle is not going away. Phil might be the only one running it in the league.
Its not easy. That kind of makes it cool in my book.
