Knicks · ¿Do you BELIEVE? (page 1)

I am between option 2 and 3
mreinman @ 1/15/2015 6:09 PM
I voted for #4 minus the sarcasm.

I was excited about a new beginning but so far, what scares me the most is the triangle. Its amazing how long it has taken this team to use it. The comments from the traded players about how hard it is, its actually scary. You would think the best system is one that helps each player flow within it so they can get the best shots possible. There is no flow in our offense.

We are a terrible team, but I agree with some who think that we look way worse than we really are. The roster is bad, injuries have mounted and we have a rookie coach, but right now what seems to be making this equation bad is the system.

I want to believe but this situation looks like bad fits everywhere.

Patience.

40 games in PANIC!!!!!! Despair!!!

Even briggs is in a tizz!!

What else can I do but wait and see what happens? HOPEFULLY, Phils tenure doesn't get chalked up as another classic knicks FUBAR clusterphuck SNAFU but so far it's been off to an inauspicious start. All I can do it hope for the best and see what happens and hope it turns out different this time.

Hahaha Im actually very patient, but in my case, I really wonder if the triangle is the right system for our team, a team what will be led by Melo either way. Might be inclined to think it will work but after many years.

GustavBahler @ 1/16/2015 7:27 AM
Havent been impressed with coach Fisher to this point, but he is learning on the job with the worst roster in the league. Most of them will be gone after this season so Im not concerned with them learning the triangle, the season is already in the crapper. Fisher will get another season to prove he is up to the job (at least) so IMO its more about Fisher and his staff becoming as good at teaching the triangle as they possibly can for next season, when we have a new roster.

Phil should take a more hands on approach over the summer in that department. If Phil really wants to make it the cornerstone of the Knicks offense, an offense that players have said is difficult to adopt, he should get his hands dirty and lend a hand in the offseason. Once the season starts Phil can go back to a more hands off approach so there isnt any speculation about him returning to coaching which could undermine Fisher.

If the ping pong balls bounce our way everyone will immediately forget about the suffering of this season. This has to happen, it sucks bad , but it has to happpen. Regimes past would of traded our draft pick for Lance Stephenson

I am as well. I went with 2, but worry 3 could be a reality.

And I'm not so sure the triangle is the system we should be running.

Granted, there are some knuckleheads here - some traded. Shump sure looked great running it early in the year, then he disappeared, was hurt and traded.

I've said this before- I think we're a legit five years out from putting together a competitive team. We have too many holes to fill and not enough assets.

I don't think there is a single franchise who I wouldn't trade with this second- where their combination of talent signed, draft picks available and prospects to improve aren't immeasurably greater than ours.

Maybe Cleveland, but name one franchise with a worse present/future than ours right now?

Cartman718 @ 1/16/2015 8:01 AM
honestly his demeanor comes across as mark jackson's just before he lost the warriors job.

Of course "We wonder". I am doubtful at times because we have not seen the evident glimpse into what could be.

We cleaned house big time. Only Melo is left and his ball centric ways are his past.
I am surprised fans have so little faith in the coaching staff that has won either as a player or as a coach. Cleamons, Rambis and Fish have to have at least 12-16 among themselves. The guy that hired them at the VERY LEAST might not have experience as a GM but sure as hell knows a thing or two about coaching.

Some see "Epic disaster", I see rebuilding. The disaster was the first 21 games. The 16 game losing streak is the result OF THAT DISASTER. Gone is Sam, Shump and JR. More to follow.

Some of you think this roster is capable of more and thus Fish and the staff of bling is somehow not good enough.
They are not. Some of you think Fish should show more passion and yell more. I think he should be cool. Some of you think 41 games is being patient. I think its just the beginning. Some of you are holding judgement to see what he does during the summer, I think this is a three year process and will be all of five or more to contend.

Basketball is a game of matchups. We have one dominant player. He is injured.

The rest of the roster is barely competitive. Hence a 0-14 start against the Milwaukee Bucks. Falling behind by 40 points to the Charlotte Hornets at home. By 40. Losing 16 in a row and counting. Allow that to sink in a minute.

We are an expansion team.

LOL!!!!!! We in the mecca so look down and say that about other cities in the past!!!!!

misterearl @ 1/16/2015 1:40 PM
arkrud - technically, if we were a contraction team the franchise would be picked clean, all assets sold and then fold up the tent.

We are not the Kentucky Colonels or the St Louis Spirits.

They could play.
