they really should NOT let him go however, their payroll is 73-74m, if you throw a max contract at Green, it will shoot up to about 90m
As a smart market team, they will be forced to make some moves if they do keep him
Like move David Lee or/and Iggy or/and Bogut
Lets not forget Harrison Barnes will get payed in 2 years as well, while they already are signed McAdoo and are developing Justin Holiday as well
If they are unable to move some contracts around, their boss might not be willing to pay the tax and keep that team intact, trying to look for cheaper options
But that isn't the point, the point is we should try regardless
Just like throwing a max offer to Kawaii or/and Jimmy Butler, worse case scenario is they match, we have nothing to lose
We are trying to play like these teams like GS, Atlanta, Spur's
So lets get players that know how to play in that type of system, preferably younger players
Smart/HIGH IQ, versatile on BOTH OFF AND DEFENSE, and skilled players
Draymond Green is NOT just a role player, he is much very skilled and a big part of why GS's record is much improved this year when compared to past seasons
Surely it isn't all him, it is the way they play, something we are trying to emulate
Look at how they play DEFENSE vs Houston and just SWEPT him 4x this year, mainly BLOW OUTS from the start
We are talking about the BEST SCORER in today's NBA today and one of the better teams in the entire league
Surely having something of Green's caliber would have a great affect on the development of our own young guys, especially our #1 Pick this summer and our Weschester upcoming Knicks
And that is why I want him the most, an extension of a coach both on and off the court, players of his caliber are very rare and i think even more important than CA at his age
The way he plays MAKES OTHERS better
CA's game does not make anyone better, look at JR Smith once he joined Cleveland...
We have to realize CA is what he is, a scorer and nothing more
