Town's fault getting 2 fouls in 1 minute. Hes a top 3 pick but I dont see 1 club taking him before ok4. There is a safety net with okafor there is no excuse with him--hes giving you 20-10 every game despite double teams.

FistOfOakley @ 2/17/2015 10:18 PM
the safety of an offensive game and a dubious defensive game...

towns and okafor are sort of yin/yang prospects... towns has questions on the offensive side ok4 on the defensive side... the thing is, it's much easier and common for prospects to improve on offense... defense esp for big men is an entirely different story...

it might not shake out that way in the draft but it's going to be a question that follows each of them as their careers progress...

Christmas looks much better on offense playing against Louiseville's shorter frontline. But he's getting out muscled by Montrezl Harrell on the other end.

Christmas starting to impose his will. Louisville's guard play looks suspecct. Rozier needs to stay another year in school. Gbinije's stock continues to rise.

Actually Louisville's frontline is bigger than Duke's. He was the best player on the court--hes better than Harrell.

I'm factoring girth too. Duke started the game with Plumlee against Syracuse too, so they were bigger up front than usual. Harrell played his but off, but Louisville's guard play has gone to heck. I thought Harrell did a good job muscling Christmas around earlier in the game. Onuako just isn't physical enough to take on someone on the level Christmas and it showed later in the game. Gbinije was big and Rozier looked lost.

Okafor just made a special play. He set up for to post up on the blk, received the ball then got double. Palmed the ball looked to pass but then dribbled out of the double team turned downed the lane and finished with his left hand. Awesome play.

The guys footwork is amazing. He has excellent court awareness.

Think about this--draftexpress has Christmas ranked #54. That so far off. He's an NBA player and he might just be pretty good. He'll need to add a 12 footer but hes got nice form. Perhaps a version of Al Horford? Hes about the same size--hed be a little undersized C in the NBA.

I could definitely see Christmas going higher and I wouldn't mind the Knicks taking him if we had another pick. I'm thinking a Dale Davis type.

Davis is a great comparison. He should be a good pro.

Right now Christmas and Wood are going 30 and 31 on nba draft . Thats how important our 2nd round pick was. Wood will need developmental time but his upside is as high as ANY player in this draft.

The two biggest problems for the Knicks at the top of the draft is the F leash Calipari has on Towns and the reality that Mudiay played against no one the last year. I dont see Mudiay as anything more than Tyreke Evans--his jumpshot and lack of elite athleticism and speed will hold him back a bit. Nice potential player but hes not the "one" so to speak. Watch when he does a vertical leap hes a plus athlete but hes not elite.

Yeah, I hope the scouting department does its due diligence with Mudiay. Either way, he's probably going to be three years away from helping a NBA team. Town's would've better served going to Georgetown or some other school that develops bigs and could offer him playing time.

Well Cousins and A Davis were both good coming out, maybe Towns can continue in their foot steps. Seems like they adjusted quickly to the NBA. Towns gets less usage, but should still adjust well.

I think Calipari is trying to inflate Stein's value to help him get a 1st round payday. When the games start to matter I think you will see Towns log a lot more minutes and distinguish himself as Kentucky's go to guy

Yeah, but Cousins and Davis had no issues with minutes and were allowed to play through mistakes. I'm sure Townsvis getting decent coaching, it's the game experience that he lacks.
gunsnewing @ 2/20/2015 6:59 PM
Yea but this kentucky team is so much deeper up front
BRIGGS @ 2/21/2015 4:08 PM
Christmas played great again. Ill say it 10 times he and wood are highly under rated

Only way we can acquire a talent like Christmas is by trading down our pick this year or if we are able to trade CA with him agreeing to do so with this injury recovery and a trade kicker

This would have been a great year to have multiple picks and many teams have just that, some of which already has strong foundations or/and high potential young players

Russell is the player that more teams will probably go up in rankings due to many high potential BIGS in this draft

With Dragic heading to Miami, you can overpay and challenge the RFA's but is it really worth it to overpay?
With no state tax in Miami, a 5year deal in place, I think Heat will offer a contract that Dragic can not say no to
They got unforunate with Bosh but they would have been a scary team if they could have stayed healthy this season
While Whiteside will be making Wade's money after next season

Justise Winslow is a player I also really like

With Kentucky's BIGS, who really knows who will be the best player 5years from now? Whether it is Towns/Stein then Lyles, Johnson, Poly...
I like their roster and with their history of producing NBA quality players, I think the trend will continue

I think we made a huge mistake by not trading CA to a contender last season that could have netted us 1st rounders in this draft and high 2nd rounders in this draft and future drafts
Then with CA gone, look to build Tim Hardaway JR, JR Smith, and the entire roster so we can sell high on players
I would have never drafted Tim Hardaway JR either, with Mason Plumlee off the board, I would have went for Gobert and his potential with Chandler mentoring him...

Despite trading MCW, I think Hinkie is making the right moves, and will have a very bright future ahead of them if these young players work hard and develop
Have to credit their development staff for MCW, Jrue Holiday, Thad Young, Iggy, etc, I think they feel confident that they will draft Russell and have many talents with them in the upcoming years to draw ALL STAR's over when they realize the potential of their roster by the next lock out, with much money to spend

Philly probably is aiming for him, with Embid/Noel being their BIGS of their future, and many cheap contracts/many picks in this draft/future drafts, in addition to Covington/Grant/Hollis Thompson/Sampson all locked in at the minimum
They will have a lot of cap space to target 3 NBA ALL STAR's in 2017 with signs and signs and trades with their assets, to go with all their young talent and that will be their plan to be contenders in the next 15years
I think Hinkie is alligning everything right up and they can be the OKC of the East in a couple of years, will they pay to keep their talents

IF Noel, Embid, the guys in this upcoming draft, and their current role players/draft rights in Europe allign up, they have a very high and scary ceiling
