Knicks · Official 2015 NBA Knick Draft Thread.... (page 46)

I appreciate Briggs trying to sell us on his guy almost as if imploring us to will Phil.

As always in the days leading up to the draft the drama usually works itself thru and there is little suprise at the podium.
IN any event its must see TV as Knicks can't trade the pick until after its made. I would think at some point teams will show their hand. IF Minny takes Towns, and lets it known then Lakers have nothing to lose by declaring their choice.

My sense is that If lakes can woo a big man via free agency then Russell/mundiay makes sense for them. What is intriguing is can a team like Denver with the 7th pick make its way up the draft order to the 3rd with an offer that includes its pick, and Lawson (Might take more) philly might be able to get Winslow there or another player it covents while getting a quality Point. Might take another pick, or not.

In that scenario Denver values Oka5 very highly.

I like Kaminsky and he'll do well on a good team. I can't fathom some of these guys draft value and thus can't argue if Briggs is right or wrong.

As for the Stein conspiracy that he is sandbagging his offensive skills, well we'll just have to see that play out.
theres gold to be found in the draft for the ones that get it right.

i dont see kaminsky as a star

So your going full Rainman with Kaminsky rants for the nextt two weeks?

I might do it, too, but I'm too burned out dealing with the Steinboys and the Steinlove coming from his thread.

We can say the same about the Kaminsky boys.....skyboys....skylove....

Well Winslow might be the answer.....i belive he can guard both players.....and has better or similar defense as wcs. Shoots 41% from 3.....enjoys playing the Pippen role....to melos MJ role.

Maybe phil plans to trade for another pick and get payne....then monroe in free agency.....it doesnt fill every hole.....but its a start.

I dont see it either even though im a fan of him. I do think he will be a good role player though and considering he is probably a mid round pick that sounds about right
jbeachboy @ 6/9/2015 6:26 PM
i think knicks may go with mudiay unless knicks think its cool to go a season with jose calderon as your point guard again

you can kinda say that about 3 other player positions for the Knicks.

Draftexpress now has the knicks getting Russell because the 76ers are taking porzingas at 3rd. I really want to see what their sources are because wow.

knicks brass paying the writers through "unnamed sources".

Ilovestarks @ 6/10/2015 9:39 AM
Winsliw dropped to #7 in that mock

Not sure how some folks know how highly thought of Porzingis is. He got the European Rising Star award, has played against very good European competition, and his dad, brother, and even his mom, have all played the game.

Philly has scouted Porzingis a great deal, as has Minnesota. I think some of you are completely missing the boat on him. I would take him at #4 without hesitation if we worked him out and liked him.

I still think Russell is going to LA, and if Mudiay is underwhelming, they might take Porzingis.

Are there any recent vids of Winslow working out that we can look at?

FistOfOakley @ 6/10/2015 12:37 PM
winslow is going to workout for teams in the 5-10 range soon... so there should be talk about it....
jbeachboy @ 6/10/2015 1:12 PM
i dont see philly passing on russell to take porzingis

Apparently DraftExpress is listening to me pray each night.

I believe LA will take Russell, and that will shake everything up. They won't have a chance to choose between Russell and Porzingis, their choice will be between Mudiay/Ok4/Porzingis.

or trade down (which is very possible)

jbeachboy @ 6/10/2015 3:05 PM
it says lakers are locked in on okafor
jbeachboy @ 6/11/2015 1:34 PM
winslow and willey cauley stein seem to be a phil jackson type of player , mudiay would not in my opinion

There is no way that Phil would not take Okafor.

Though it's starting to look like there is no way the Lakers pass on Okafor.

I think the draft will be the predicted: 1) Towns 2) Okafor 3) Russell when all is said and done. Those three guys are just too automatic and fit their teams' needs too well to be passed on.

Nalod @ 6/11/2015 2:57 PM
LIke most years, there are few surprises unless there is a big trade.

Teams do their due dilligence as its smart. Also, a physical condition can happen and teams need be prepared. Embiid slipped for his reason last year.

jbeachboy @ 6/11/2015 5:34 PM
what made mudiay such a high profile prospect in top 4 and also winslow move up so high?

Mudiay is an elite athlete with elite play-making ability. Winslow is climbing because the trend in the league right now is highly versatile wing defenders who can shoot a little and guard multiple positions i.e. D Carroll, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green. Winslow projects as a great prospect for the modern NBA.
