Well Phil is pretty smart all of the statements could and probably are smokescreens
Marc Spears just said he expects the Knicks to take Kristaps.

Taking him makes sense with Phil wanting to address the front line, get a player who can play in the triangle, and supposedly, Kristaps can play a little D. What doesnt make sense is everyone saying he is a year or 2 away. Phil wants someone who can play right away. Who knows, maybe another smoke screen. Knicks been pretty tight lipped, why does this leak now?

If he picks him, its pretty clear that he will trade him.

He might trade him but I am not sure how that is clear. Are you thinking he is going to try and get 5 and another pick from Orlando?
The one fantasy draft night trade if really love is that one that gets us the 6&7, even if some might say its a pipe dream.
Would people do this if it was Russell at 4? Would guys give him up if we come away with the 6&7?

Nope..I think Russell is going to be an allstar...
Everybody seems to be set on the top 3 being all but done.
That sucks. Im not really looking forward to Porzingis or reaching for anyone else at 4.
Only a trade for mutliple later picks, like the 6+7 dresm, would turn things up for us.

yup im sure those 2 extra wins in the last 3 games was worth it
Yeah I don't see WCS being the pick
can we finally rule willey cauley stein out now! knicks are going to draft porzingis to trade him? nets did this with derrick favors!
nets didnt really like anyone too much and were going to pick cousins or favors to trade them to get the most value for a superstar
It'll be Russell, Mudiay, or Porzingis. Depends on how the draft plays out IMO. Don't see us picking anyone else unless we trade.
winslow is out of mix? hez too?
Well they're both small forwards. Not knocking either one, just don't think they fill as big a need as a big and a lead guard would on the current roster. Would have a much different outlook if we could somehow trade melo and his ridiculous contract!
jbeachboy wrote:winslow is out of mix? hez too?
I think they are both in the mix. Phil seemed open to Melo playing more PF which makes another wing (or two) a roster option

Damn, I try not to buy into every rumor and smokescreen, but it's really starting to seem like there may have been a promise here. I could live with this.
Yeah that definitely looks like it. First he canceled his workout with Philly due to "injury" now this...damn man I think he's a knick.
Watching NBA mock draft talk about how great Russell is makes me sick to my stomach
I seriously hope that the Knicks don't get Lyles. Rakeem Christmass is twice as good as him.
