Knicks · Yes we need to draft and sign well, but another way this team will quickly improve: (page 2)

I know its fueled by desperation to salvage something enjoyable about this season but Im already projecting this guy in line ups for next year. I mean he's ALWAYS been able to shoot it. He's very athletic.. the question is can he guard NBA wings and can he play the PG? So far its looking like he belongs. Could be a real gem.
As your title states, your proposing an idea on how this team would quickly improve..others think that trading melo would quickly improve the knicks as it would give it more assets going forward, which is true. Nobody is bashing Melo.

But yea man... grasping for any deal to get Melo off the team (he's got a no trade clause) while plugging their "idea" post with stuff like this:
The combination of his age and his lackluster wing defense and years of poor conditioning have pushed him out of the wing position for the future.
an aging one dimensional gunner
isnt bashing?
Just call it what it is. Some guys simply cant accept reality and let go. He's not going anywhere. Options are
a)deal with it
b) pout and stomp in a corner
c) option b, then post on UK about it
Sigh...
Back to topic (if anyone cares to discuss) but someone made a profound suggestion in the game thread. Is Galloway making Calderon better? A shooter who defends and can handle and plays in the system.... hmmmmm.
Im not trying to be a dick (usually happens all by itself anyway). I was just hoping (silly me) to chat about the above point in bold, as opposed to suggesting trade proposals for a guy who just signed a deal 6 mos ago with a no trade clause.

It looks like 2 of the 25 posts in this thread said something negative about Melo. Why draw so much attention to or complain about those 2?

Why did you feel a need to talk about my post, which had nothing to do with you or anything you posted rathan than comment on the topic at hand?

Thanasis would be eligible for a huge raise eventually, would use cap space in the neighborhood of 1m starting to lock him him for a 3year deal with team option for 3rd
We need players that make little money locked in so in 2017 we can preserve cap space and sign another big FA when we will attract more talent with the development of our young talents and hopefully executing a team system with chemistry
So no future poison pills as he is a mid/late 2nd rounder that would be eligible only for 2 years otherwise if we do not use cap space or exemptions to lock him up for 3years
He would have to agree though, like KJ McDaniels who was unwilling to sign a 2 year deal at the minimum and just signed a 1 year deal making him a UFA this summerHe is another player I would like to lock up in the range of 2-3m per year to pair with Thanasis
Ron how many times have I provided the example
Of what his deal would look like
We could sign him now for very cheap and control the options on yrsIt's a matter if he and his camp would agree
I think going on 2yrs not sniffing the Big Boy league says he signsYou do know what his deal could look like right?
I have not seen a post about it from you, I do not think we can pay him as we do not have exemptions left this year after using the lower MLE on Jason Smith
I believe we can only pay him what he can make which is basically the bare minimum, until we have cap space or trade exemptions to use, which will be for next season
Unless we are able to move some BIG contracts for nothing like STAT, getting back a trade exemption, then we will have cap space
So if you have posted about it before, what can he make this year?
I do understand that he must agree to it as well, as KJ McDaniels was unwilling to sign for more than 1 year...

I am not purposely trying to bash CA if you are reffering to me, just for the sake of doing stepping on him
I do realize I do it at times but I do think that he is talented, just not a good fit to build on for this team as the #1 to build around at his salary and our lack of picks and young talents
I am always looking for how I think is the best for the Knicks to improve, as we all have different opinions
We don't really butt heads in posts so I don't think you are talking about me but just want to clear the air

Holee sheehit! How long has Splat been gone? Is anyone keeping track?
And can we just call him Langsane or GWay? Anything but the retreaded nickname. Saying Gallo just sets off the Melohate in some, like an unconscious pavlovian reflex.
Back on topic:
Doesn't having at least one other person who can actually shoot make everyone better? I don't quite get how he makes Calderone's recent 1-5 from 3 games any better, but he's a local, feel good story. Please God, take care of his knees...
A lanky 6'2" 200 lb rookie PG, 3-4 apg...who's not afraid to shoot. If he gets his steals total up, could we be looking at the next Clyde?
